Firstly, we are all most happy for you to learn that the dispatch of 'this blessed event' is to occur in the near future. Excellent news.

However, I am sorry to have to confess that I actually took a long, lingering, look at the website of the company which manufactured (manufactures) your eminently desirable objet d'art this evening, between reading other reports.

In common with - doubtless many others who dwell here - I, too, have been awaiting an update as to when said marvel would ship, arrive, be unpacked, and......ah, initiated into a long and mutually rewarding relationship with our resident espresso expert.......

So, we thank you for the Bulletin; a most welcome report, and one, yes, awaited with eager (if vicarious) anticipation.....do, please, keep us updated and informed; initially, daily bulletins will suffice.....;)

I have been having so much fun making espressos and lattes for the last week. It is all starting to came along nice :)

It's always a pleasure to hear of other's pleasure in their coffee experiences.

Keep working on it, and it gets better and better. It's sort of a lifetime pursuit...so many variables to control, you're always fiddling and adjusting!

Enjoy, Mate!

DAILY UPDATE:

The new baby is in the US.

(Won't you all be happy when this thing finally is delivered and you don't have to put up with my pathetic need for attention. Well, actually, that pathetic need won't stop...it will just be manifested in different, annoying post topics! :p:eek:)

It looks more like it's on it's way to me in Michigan, since it skipped Massachusetts and landed in Ohio!

The preservation of my dignity and good manners prohibits my from agreeing completely.

I would never do that...I abjure any comments that might demonstrate my acquiesce with your self appraisal.

 :p

Okay, okay, I'll make sure DHL re-directs your new espresso machine to your home and mine! ;)

Okay, my friends.

While there may be some slight difference of opinion as to the ultimate destination of this eagerly awaited parcel, my interest is to ensure that (whosoever is the fortunate recipient) does remember his duty to his peers on this thread to announce its safe arrival.

It is not too much to ask, now, is it?

For the rest, Shrink, I, too, have sat, with beady-eyed obsession, and no little impatience, along with perfervid anticipation, over similar tracking notices, (fascinating, isn't it, to be able to do this in our times?) when and while awaiting stuff (some rather attractive stuff, now that I come to think of it, from such stalwarts as Colonel Littleton, Saddleback, and so on)......

So, I feel your pain; the sort of perverse pain that is commingled with pleasure. Hm.. What strange yet amazing times we live in.

Well, do please, keep us informed. Daily updates will suffice.

It is amazing to be able to track purchases as easily as we can...except USPS which seems to update it's website weekly, at best.

I know that I already used up my daily post limit, but I just received a phone call informing me that the delivery would be "next business day"...which here in the States is Tuesday, as Monday is a national holiday (bank holiday?)...Martin Luther King Day.

The anticipation is, really, quite fun! If it comes Tuesday, it will mean that the transit time from the UK to me was 2 business days. I certainly have no complaint about that, considering that I have had parcels sent by Royal Mail > USPS take about 12-14 days.

For some reason, when I think of this imminent delivery I hear this in my head...

Yup...not that I'm not pumped up enough. That really helped!

I see. Fascinating.

So, you think that Shrink will be devoured (merely metaphorically, of course) by his Londonium? Londinium? (which generation, II, or III?) machine, when it arrives? This should be interesting......

Since I am metaphorically devoured by my obsession with espresso in general, and this machine is, for me, the plus non ultra of my pick of machines..."devoured" is an apt metaphor.

Mine is the cheapy Londinium I, the Londinium II is a tiny bit more expensive, and the Londinium III is still just a concept.

"Londinium"...a tiny bit pretentious, but I admit, with embarrassment, that I love the sound of it.

To save you time when your in israel. The best places to get a cafe hafuch are.
1 cup of joe
2 English cake
3 yellow jacket gas station. Don't roll your eyes it's israel not the USA. You can get GOOD fresh gas station food.
4 aroma
5 coffee bean over priced and slow services

And then there's 5 shekal coffee that just opened on Ben yehuda street in Jerusalem. so I'm looking forward to try that.

Yes, I like the sound of 'Londinium' (the old, and genuine, Roman name for a city that in some shape or form has existed for the best part of almost two thousand years), too.

We need frequent updates on the parcel's progress.

Bad news!

I'll spare you all the annoying, time consuming, heartbreaking details and cut to the chase...

The machine is stuck in US Customs under FDA examination. Really...FDA! Apparently it's just the luck of the draw. Accordinding to the owner of the Londinium business, maybe 1 out of 100 or more get pulled...it's up to the Customs Agent putting the package through.

Anyway, it means 4-5 business days, at least. Great hopes for next week...big disappointment this week.

I also just paid the Import Tax and Duties...$153.35 USD. I know I shouldn't complain, but along with the Credit Card Foreign Purchase fee ...pretty soon this could get a little expensive.:p

As Everett Dirksen (a total swine) said sometime in the 50's..."a billion dollars here, a billion dollars there...pretty soon you're talking real money!"

My deepest sympathies on your plight.

Re Everett Dirksen, (I like the description of 'total swine'), well, you know what they say: "If you owe a few hundred dollars you're a failure, a few hundred thousand a mortgage holder, a few million a business, a few billion, a Government, and countless billions....a bank." (I used a somewhat different version when a student; I've updated it to take changing circumstances into.......account).

Thank you! (Although based on the posts in another thread...well...:p)

The actual body wracking sobbing stage is over now...it's just the whimpering, teary eyed, nose blowing stage now.

I suppose I'll survive...probably...:(
