This launch is like every other launch, Apple presents it, they say when you can order or buy in the shop, you order and wait it to bedelivered at the date you got at your order, what is messy about that ?

Yes you are "just" anxious

I can not remember apple giving dates as “second half of the month”. For every previous iPad, iPhone or Mac you had an specific date and hour for pre orders and an specific date where they will start selling it at the apple store and clients receiving their orders.

I said it’s a difficult situation for apple because chips shortages, and pandemic logistics. With Sony and nvidia saying that shortages will last until 2022 I can not imagine it will be much different for apple.

A little mysterious launch indeed, it's like Xmas came soon, with Tim as Santa himself. I got the pencil, a keyboard case and two 4packs of engraved Airtags with loops and keyrings, waiting to be delivered as the least imaginative Bday presents for family and friends.
Getting a little anxious too. With exam period over, I wish I could already take the iPad out with me. The summer is looking good with iPad at your hands, and for me it will be ready to get the job done in winter semester.

Sorry if bit off topic, but does anybody have any knowledge what’s the availability at Apple resellers in EU?

I ordered iPad Pro 11’’ 256 GB Silver from a large electronics chain in Nordics (Elgiganten/Gigantti) that is an Apple authorized reseller. Their website currently says “delivery starting 25 May (not confirmed)”. I made the order same weekend when pre-ordering started at Apple.

Do you think there’s any possibility to get my iPad delivered around same time with those people ordering directly from Apple or should I prepare to wait much longer? Do Apple typically provide the resellers any inventory before the launch date of products or how does it work?

i wanted to buy from elgiganten as well.

But well, after 8 minutes i got impatient. The stock was already rumored to be small for 12.9(and it was), and elgiganten didnt refresh theirs on time. They were almost 20 minutes late in that game, and they still cant give a date. I usually like buying from such stores, it makes returns and repairs easy. Unfortunatly, they were too late for me. So i got directly from apples website.

It would be quite bad if they didnt have inventory for resellers. Otherwise you will likely end up getting your ipad late. i would however, recon that they will ship yours out in time. The stock for 11 inch should be good, so either way you will probably get it within the first week.

Apple order page is down for me now. Only way I can access my order is by the link in the confirmation email. When I press that link Apple say my iPad is ready to be shipped in 2-3 weeks. Hope this is wrong! ??

The order page is broken for me too. The status of the iPad has moved back to order received but the estimated delivery date is still 21-27 May.

The order page is down for me too. That could also mean that they’re rearranging the orders.
Someone said in this thread that this is not the smoothest product preorder and release in the history of Apple products, and I totally agree. I don’t get anxious for this kind of stuff, I couldn’t care less if it takes 7 more days to be delivered, it’s just unusual for Apple to not have an explicit release date and, on top of that, have confused dates on order confirmations

confirmation email was received at 12 mins pass opening time (given all the issues I think this was still quite early)

Looking forward to seeing what all the other EU pre-orders also have.

usually apple store app is being maintained or order summary goes offline during weekends. Just don't do anything, you will see your order when it comes back online.

Don’t worry mate it’s the same for everyone Apple is just taking its sweet time.

my 2 cents; IPP 12.9 512GB SG, no engraving from the Netherlands. Ordered using credit card.
Order confirmation 6 minutes after live (had a lot of trouble ordering, had to retry like 5 times; the iPad kept being removed from my cart)
Showed 21-28 may in confirmation email, 28 may on order page (when it was available )
