This color interpretation stuff is just endlessly fascinating.

im now curious - is this what Capri Blue is supposed to actually look like as shown on the box? Because mine is definitely darker than the box shows. And I'm happy about it at the same time, cant find like any real world photos on other capri blue units on the web with a quick search.

8/2021 on the back too. wonder if there was either some variation or mix up at the factory or something I dunno does that coincide with when this band launched or is it a late / mid manufactured sample?

the oddest part is I assumed they would all match when I ordered it on Amazon yesterday lol (was giddy it was $9) and didnt realize the naming differences until after taking the initial crappy indoor photo and being questioned whether the accessories were Capri Blue ... then I remembered the iPad and band were Surf blue

the plot thickens.

No the box pictures (at least for bands) are nonsense. We’re really just dealing with the limitations of silicone I believe.

Have a look at 'Observer Metamerism' or just Metamerism in general if you find it interesting. It explains a lot of the colour interpretations in this thread.

I need a recommendation for a good adjustable nylon band. Similar to the Apple brands that have the two colors (sport band). Any recommendations?

Here is a direct color comparison between the "old" colors and the new colors of the 7 series. What I really find a pity is that you can't find a Band that fits directly to some of the cases, especially with the red one. Does anyone happen to have a photo with the Red 7 and Rose Red?

Saw your post in the other forum but didn’t want to clog that thread up so I’m posting here instead. You want black and/or yellow sport loops? Sunflower and Oat Milk/Lemon Zest might be good options; Sunflower is out of print but a huge stock of them dropped from somewhere so you can find them new in box for around $20 on ebay. Oat Milk/Lemon Zest is a current band so it’s not difficult to find.

If you want black black, the Nike Black band that was bundled with the Nike+ Series 4 is the closest option; Chargerstore on eBay has one left in new/open box condition, though for a little above retail. Can easily be confused with the 38mm/42mm version with lugs that better fit the Series 3 and earlier (and maybe the wide release version with multicolor accent thread instead of platinum). There is a current version available but it has the Nike Swoosh and logo.

I really hope space gray makes a comeback for the series 8. Midnight would have never been my first choice, but it was the only dark color as far as the series 7 goes.

There’s Graphite Steel and Space Black Hermès but yeah, a darker neutral gray should return to the aluminum models. Maybe with the Nike editions? Midnight and Starlight don’t look as nice with some Nike bands, so bringing back space gray and silver would not only be better but also differentiate them more.

Yes, very reputable from what I’ve seen. Lots of genuine prototypes and whatnot in the past as well. Have acquired a few bands from them with no complaints.

Hermes crowds them out on my one steel 44mm, so I’ve stopped buying them—except in this case where under forty for my first dark blue one (if you don’t count Bright Blue) was irresistible…
