Having recently acquired a few sport loops I’ve gone down a bit of a colour rabbit hole. With the charcoal variant for example, is anyone aware of a definitive way to determine the rail colours? I’ve guessed at coastal grey and abyss…..
This is very much a question for @athousandbands. He's gone through a lot of Sport Loops and made band buddies pics determining rail colors.

For the most part, Apple will list the accent colors in the gradient face. Charcoal doesn’t have its own face but we can safely say they used Deep Navy there (I’ll double check on this later with the bands in hand)

@Bandeeto wow no got this one wrong. Shows you how much I wear charcoal. Don’t think I’d ever clocked its blue rail…turns out it’s actually kind of a dead ringer for the Tomales Blue solo loop that came out in the subsequent spring of 2021 as another match to the burple Blue Aluminum S6.

Unedited quick shot here, Kumquat/Deep Navy on the left here:

The Inverness sport loop is a tricky one too. No identifiable colours in the face app, I’m thinking it’s Northern Blue/Cypress/Deep Navy

Definitely Northern Blue; and I think we put our heads together and decided on Cyprus for the Inverness bands when the Evergreen cosmetic isn’t available.

There’s no color to the other rail though. I’ve always thought of it as black.

Yeah it does seem darker than the rail on Kumquat.

I think they’re not coming until April because of the rumored MBA 15 launch that month. They held back the bands in spring 2021. 😭
starting to think that making new bands every 3 months was more expensing than profitable, otherwise they wouldn't have changed policy.. lots of unsold bands maybe?

They haven’t ever changed the number of bands released per year in the sport band+sport loop category. Nike bands and leather they’ve slowed down on.

The spring+summer collection is probably going to be released all at once and would come in March at the earliest. 3/8/2022 last year

All the “winter 2022” bands came out in September.

While I drool at the thought of new bands just like the rest of you freaks, I think it actually makes sense to only have 2 bigger releases instead of 4 smaller ones. Often enough people hemmed and hawed too long and all-too-soon bands were gone, but if you can‘t make up your mind about a band in 6 months, you probably don‘t need it anyways.

Taking into account the actual cost to make a band vs the price Apple sells them for, they probably only have to sell 100 to turn a profit!!! 😉lol

I know you are only half serious about this, but Apple is no Mom and Pop shop where mom sews some bands and pop has them on display once they are ready.
Apple's product launches (even the watch bands) require a lot of logistics, having stock available in dozens of countries and hundreds of (their own) stores, let alone ramping up time for all the inventory this requires. Even if the "100 bands sold" was all profit, it would most likely not even cover the cost to produce the advertising material.

Sorry for the rant. I know Apple is selling those bands at a very healthy margin, but I also think most people have no idea what it costs to have the bands in the store, all included.

Ya I get it…. You get what you pay for. But they are still overpriced IMHO, especially the ultra bands.…. But…. why would they lower the price if people are willing to pay it right? Business 101. Dumb ass me keeps buying them so there you go!
