It’s old enough now that not many people or even normal wholesalers put them up for sale randomly.

I can recommend this ebay seller who we’ve all shopped with a ton, shipping is slow but free

Also though, trying to find this particular band which is just named “blue” presents a search term issue haha
Ah thanks for that. I see it ships from China which is a shame as I can’t get it quick to satisfy my urge!! Haha. But looks like my only option thanks.

I know the Hermes Black sport band is a very dark black color. The newer non-hermes black sport bands appear to be a lighter shade of black. Are the Gen 1 or Gen 2 regular sport bands the darkest black colors aside from the Hermes Black?

Yeah, specifically Gen1 black is almost (by a shade not as dark) as the hermes black. G2 is less black. Ill take a picture if you like.

Thank you for the reply and very kind offer to take a picture. There isn't a need for the picture though. Your description is perfect. 👍

I would actually love to see Hermes black and Gen 1 black side by side to see if I can tell a difference
Imo the tonal difference b/w these two bands is greater than the darkness. But apple’s neutrals start losing their color the moment you unbox them so it’s all so marginal. Even a sealed black1 i got last year seemingly had aged from sitting in the box so long, as they’re not hermetically sealed enough to stay fresh for five years or whatever.

Sure. Here is Hermès left and G1 right. Its subtle but like the most slight of blacker. Also like because Ive worn one more than the other or maybe one is more dirty? I dunno :D

Here are all the black bands i have. In direct mid-day sunlight.

Hermes / G1 Silver Pin / G1 Space Gray Pin / G2 / Midnight and the black solo loop across the top.

Like @athousandbands mentioned, its so subtle because they lose color after touching skin/being used etc its mostly moot.

Yep this shot lines up with my sense of it, that Hermes just has a different tone? Slightly warmer

The general consensus throughout band collectors seems to be that Hermes is a hair darker than G1, right? and like, provably so, apparently.

I've seen the comparison many times, and if I'm honest, I just can't see it. They look exactly the same to me.

maybe what you're seeing is the difference in the formula of the fluoroelastomer from them changing it every other year?

Anyone have an untouched 42mm Hermes Black we can compare to a Gen 1 Black? (And a 45mm Noir)

Yeah, they do look similar in photographs. In person its a little more noticeable. If anything, that lends to the credibility of them basically being the same and only getting the hermes one for the PIN/collection

Would be next to impossible to pull off, but if we could end up with prototypes of both with the little FKM stickers still on them, that'd be the best way to tell definitively.

Saddle Brown Classic Buckle 38mm, picked this up for £50 new.

Not sure about it though, it seems they designed the 42mm one for men, and made the 38mm oddly narrow, or simply for what they perceived to be a women's strap. I don't mind a small strap; it's actually a pretty classy, mid-century vibe, but I'm not sure I like the taper. I feel like a fixed width band without stitching would work better. What do you folks think?
