new 46mm Ultra coming soon: the Apple Watch Ultra Pro Max Mini
If Apple made a smaller Ultra that is compatible with the 38/40/41mm bands, I would instantly upgrade from my new S9, no questions asked.
Dunno why but I read the word “ultimate” into the product. As in only one. Looks good on even the smallest fitness+ trainers tbh
I also wonder if the Series X needs another height increase to signal “new” or if they don’t wanna encroach on the Ultra.
i wonder how apple would approach coming full circle and bumping the 41mm to 42mm?
I feel like the obvious answer is they don't? maybe 43mm/47mm
Def don’t. Even if it means rounding up from 42.1 or whatever. When launch season dies down I’m gonna chart out what the linear jump in size would be and see how it looks.
Also I can imagine them memory-holing 42mm. The S3 started selling soooo long ago. Just getting rid of the mention of 38 and 42 in the compatibility blurbs.

Trip to the Apple Store!
Took a couple of portrait shots of the Winter Blue sport band on display. It is a lot more subdued than I thought it would be and deffo is not a a Spring colour masquerading as a winter colour - it is a somewhat gloomy colour.
Then tried on the Clay Braided Solo Loop which is a great match for the Natural Titanium Apple Watch S6.
No pic but Storm Blue Braided Loop looks very close to the Abyss Blue Braided Loop so if you liked that but didn’t get one now’s your chance!

trying to decide among Nike pride 2020, Pride 2023, and Nike pure platinum/white 2023. I want something subtly pride-y both to show allyship and because in general I think apple has executed it quite well with these bands. The problem I have with Nike 2020 and 2023 is the asymmetry. I LOVE the rainbow sprinkles but I just don’t like how asymmetrical the band looks with the warm colors only on the buckle side and the cool colors only on the long side. I’m thinking pure platinum/white might scratch the pride itch while still being largely symmetric (aside from the obvious randomness of the color splotches). Thoughts?
After Apple discontinuing leather products, I decided to pick up a couple more of leather link bands while they're still around, as they're my absolute favourite band type. Here is the golden brown, which looks far better in real life than I would've expected; seems like kind of a sporty tan colour to me. Cost me just £30, new open box!
This looks kind of like Alaskan Blue, maybe with a touch less violet in it. It's muted, but I actually love that band paired with my blue S6.
I love the Leather Link bands! I recently completed my collection of these bands. FineWoven will never be able to reach the same level of quality.
I just ordered a saddle brown link! I forgot mine in a hotel while in Europe this summer and they didn't want to ship it back to me. Had some sentimental value to it since I was wearing it on my wedding.
Blue/Black Trail Loop — the new “silver” palette color is an extremely nice fit for this band

They actually had the new Magnetic Link on display already at my local store and my goodness I think people are really going to miss the Leather Links, it was hard to put a finger on anything better about the new product - it looked and felt like cardboard.
Yeah that material seems genuinely terrible on the phone cases; I'm not sure how you'll be able to clean it on the inside of the band either, since it is effectively just plastic nylon fabric, and will start to smell pretty bad after a couple of weeks. I normally don’t wear sport bands but I love the speckles in the new Nikes. If this came in pink I’d be all over it. I wonder what the purple specks are...could they be chopped-up ultra violet? The horror 😱
I've not seen a comparison yet, but if I had to guess, probably Hyper Grape. That's if they're reusing colors at all, though. There's a chance it's entirely new.
