Yeah that material seems genuinely terrible on the phone cases; I'm not sure how you'll be able to clean it on the inside of the band either, since it is effectively just plastic nylon fabric, and will start to smell pretty bad after a couple of weeks. The price is still £100/$100 as well right?!
Yep. The real travesty about the Magnetic Link is it retains the exact same premium price that the Leather Links did.

Does anyone have the ocean band in both blue and midnight? I’m curious how they look next to each other.

If not I’ll stop by the Apple Store next week to take a look.

I normally don’t wear sport bands but I love the speckles in the new Nikes. If this came in pink I’d be all over it. I wonder what the purple specks are...could they be chopped-up ultra violet? The horror 😱

I ordered one in Desert Stone to be delivered Tuesday for my new 45mm SS9. Can’t wait to see how it looks. This will be my first Nike band.

Does anyone with an Ultra use the Ocean Bands for daily use? I love the chunky look and orange colour, but I’ve not been, and probably never will go scuba diving (I suspect I am not alone in this).

Daily use and working out, absolutely.

Many here swear by the Ocean Bands for daily use. Myself, I like them and wear a White and Midnight Ocean Band occasionally, but prefer the Alpine and Trail Loops a majority of the time. FWIW, I saw the Orange Ocean Band at the Apple Store and it’s pretty awesome on the Ultra. If that suits you, I say go for it – I think you’ll love it.

Thanks for the reply. I think my only concern with the Alpine and Trail loops would be them getting wet from swimming and sweaty from running etc. It’s not always practical to swap bands out for each activity etc, but they do look lovely.

On similar lines the very firey colors can diminish from very light use or necessary cleaning. But I guess the same is true of sport loops, we just haven’t gotten many neon ones like Bright Green or Flamingo…

I don’t know about permanent dirt being unavoidable but certainly the many crevices and surfaces of the weave love soil.
I have 8 BSLs. I spray them with Oxy Clean and put them in a mesh bag. I wash and dry them on regular cycles with my other laundry. They look great!

That makes sense… I wore my Midnight Ocean Band all day yesterday for a day of yardwork, kayaking, and building a bonfire with friends for all the reasons you listed. Perfect compliment to my Ultra for the day. I think you’ll love it, too.

So I picked up my new Beige/Orange/Blue trail loop on launch day and only took it out of the box the next day before leaving for the airport for a couple of weeks away for work. The first time I opened it, the top Velcro patch is only about half connected - like it’s peeling from the top. Anyone else have this? I assume it’s a fault and I should get it replaced when I get home?

Definitely a lemon

I know this is an Apple Watch thread but since we were talking about Storm Blue vs Abyss Blue, here we are, I have my brand new Storm Blue silicone case (left) for my iPhone 15 Pro - to the right is the 2021 Abyss Blue silicone case for my older (and now defunct) iPhone 13 Pro.

We can see they are markedly different shades of blue.

I reckon for Watch Bands, Storm Blue is probably closer to either Linen Blue or Alaskan Blue as I remember them back in their day.

Bought my Ultra at Best Buy on launch day. My new trail loop is also lifting off the band. Initially did an Apple support session but told me to resolve it with Best Buy as it was within 14 days of purchase. I went to Best Buy online customer service chat, and went through multiple agents and a supervisor.

Ultimately they offered to replace the watch and band or take $75 as compensation. I took the cash, since I can just super glue the velcro strip back on the loop. Also, I didn't want to replace the entire watch and wait for the orange/beige loop to come back in stock. Sad to hear that this is a common manufacturing error with others...

(FYI I may have been treated differently since I am a My Best Buy Total member.)

Also read that people who bought at Apple are also asking them to return the entire set (watch and band) instead of just replacing the band.

Also storm blue band is not a new color, came out last fall in solo loop form. I’ve not seen the sport band but the solo loop has much less color than basically every blue. Certainly way less than Linen.

It also has a green bent, those two bands have a purple orientation.

You be the judge. Sunny day coming through a window here in the PNW.

Interesting, and sorry for your troubles. Since I bought my as a separate piece, hopefully I’ll be okay to return/exchange it. (The complication being that I’m not in the right country for almost three weeks.)

Weird that this has happened - never heard any issues with the first gen of Trail Loops.

This makes me very sad! The old Small I could just get my hand in, and the hook sat under my wrist in the middle. I tried a Medium in the store the other day and the hook sits too far round, much closer the the watch.

This smaller Small may well render my favourite Ultra band strap as useless now. Very frustrating!
I'm afraid this is a horrible misunderstanding. 🙈

I was sure my Orange Alpine Loop was a S... it turns out it's a M 🫣 . I should have checked the boxes before showing this to @athousandbands. But I was sure I had bought the same size.

My bad. Apologies for the confusion!

Yeaaaa kinda on me too. I had a feeling this was the case. My brain has no room to remember Ultra band sizes, anyway

Curious if this is going to become a thing. Didn't happen with last season's trail loops right?
