I’d be interested to know how people completely unaware of the FineWoven’s existence and media coverage are liking their cases. Like people who just grab them when buying their phone.
Absolutely this.

I ordered on with my phone, and semi-intentionally didn't read the articles / watch the videos about FW so I could form my own opinion. I don't like the ethos of 'look for a problem', I like to put something into normal daily use and see how it lasts. Been using my Pacific Blue FW on my iPhone 15 Pro since launch day and am really liking it. If I dig my nails into it of course it will bloody well mark, but so will a lot of things!!

I also don't mean that as any disrespect to people that don't like the FW stuff, because I can see that if you're coming from Apple's previous leather stuff it's not comparable, and I can potentially see that it's a little pricey for what it is.

But I think used in a normal fashion for most people it's decent, and better to treat in isolation rather than see it as a leather replacement. And in terms of being over-priced, I personally just accept that there's an element of that with a lot of Apple's products.. but I mostly like them enough to pay it 🤣

I agree. Many are scratching the FineWoven on purpose and then take pictures to show us "how messed up" this new material is. Scratch a Hermès leather band the same way and it will also be permanently damaged.
I wore my FineWoven Mulberry Modern Buckle for a week and it held up just fine under normal usage.

Intentional scratching is not “normal usage.” My band also was not handled by hundreds to thousands of people.

I think the media coverage of FineWoven is overblown when it comes to durability since I have tried out the new material. The damage demonstrated in videos of the cases was mostly intentional. Does the quality of FW come close to a Hermès leather band? Absolutely not. However, those are two different classes of products. FineWoven is $99 or $149. Hermès leather currently retails for $379. For most people who casually accessorize at the Apple Store and don’t care about media opinions, FineWoven will be fine.

I think the xloggers and customers are right to be unsatisfied with the quality for $59 but I got one iPad Smart Folio for $99 with my 2018 iPad, saw it go to pieces and just got them for $20-30 on eBay from then on…

Sorry the quote feature didn’t work as expected. This is a picture of my new Nike loop with the tab cut off.
It came out nice….used a sharp pair of scissors and cut close to the band.
When I first saw your post, i thought BLASPHEMY, how could he cut off the signature element of this band..but frankly after trying it out/on, the orange tab while nice as an accent, provides nothing of any functional value and just dangling there not really layed down or flush with the band just stood out too much.

In the end, i returned this band more due to the bohemian sheik patterns and kept the Nike Sport band with similar colors from this season.. I’d love it if they made a NIke sport band with the similar colors, but mostly ORANGE with the blue holes accents. But you know apple, they need something to release NEXT year.

I think the fine woven material is fine or whatever, but my only real gripe is slotting it in to replace the leather options and it’s price point. If these bands/cases whatnot were cheaper then people would complain less (but still complain :) ). but parading them out as a replacement without a price but seems weird.

Yeah I do agree $59 is steep, as much as I'm enjoying it.

Agreed, I think Apple made a mistake in how the pitched them. If they'd kept the ending leather / introduction of FW totally separate the noise would have been less IMO.

I go caseless but wanted the wallet. The leather wallets held nicely to the phone with no case. The FW wallets slide right off. Now it is too late to find a leather one.

Has anyone found a 3rd party leather band that was a similar design to the classic buckle? I’ve been looking for a while and have returned all of them. I’m willing to buy connectors to make any band work..

Does anyone have a pic of the new Clay Sports Band on a SS watch?

The stores nearby me are all sold out so I can’t pick one up yet but thinking I will when it’s available.

Midnight Sky nike sport band - base color definitely has a little more life than Midnight goo

I snagged one of these from eBay or Poshmark the other day for like $25 and didn’t realize until it arrived that it was size small/medium when I always wear medium/large. The seller had put the mm size on the listing and not the s/m/l, and I didn’t do my due diligence. I can wear it, but I’m on the next to last hole and have like half an inch tucked in.

I really like how it looks in person, but I may put it back up for sale and see if I can find another one. It just feels less secure with so little tucked in.

Since Mike got me to wear all my sport bands one size larger when not working out, my 41mm bands are on the last s/m hole and it feels fine. Granted looser may sometimes help it stay put, counterintuitively.

Yeah, I think it’ll be fine. It just feels different after years of wearing the large side, so I think that’s messing with me.
