Okay so I have complicated feelings with the FineWoven.Pacific Blue magnetic link with the so-called Alaskan Blue face — this thing loves lint but I like it a lot

My only issue is it runs a little thin for the visual heft/gravitas of a stainless steel watch. I think the LeLi pills bulge out more. I bet it’s gravy on a Ti7, though.Okay so I have complicated feelings with the FineWoven.
First impressions across the board were that it sucked, can be easily scratched, doesn't feel premium etc. But I do enjoy how it looks. I'm sort of waiting for long term owners to weigh in with pics, people who wear them daily for months. Or for them to just come up on eBay real cheap. Whichever comes first.
Either way (and thousbands, you already know this) I have one coming to play with. Pacific looks good enough in pics that I think it's next on my wishlist.
It’s such a rare band it has taken on a crazy reputation but it’s barely purple, and since we all started collecting like crazy Apple has dropped so many fine purples in that lilac way.Ok, so I haven’t posted in here in forever and I have a question and need some input. For those of you who have the Lilac sport band, what are your thoughts? Yay or nay?
+1. Lilac is nice, but like, it's just another band in the collection. I don't think about it any more than I do the rest. It’s such a rare band it has taken on a crazy reputation but it’s barely purple, and since we all started collecting like crazy Apple has dropped so many fine purples in that lilac way.
At the same time Apple hasn’t made many periwinkle bands, as the lilac sport band actually appears.
Blue fog and slate blue et al are muted/muddied in a way that lilac SpBa isn’t.
Right, and I think my biggest issue with them is just that Apple prices them as if they were leather. And honestly, even the Leather Links felt cheap for $99. The classic buckles were the best of the Apple leathers, only to be killed assumingely by the Hermes contract. I wish we got a couple more years with those. And the Woven Nylons.I think they're good, but just overpriced. Does not feel premium in the slightest.
Awesome, thank you!! I’ll give it an outdoor test drive to see how it turns out. Oh, the curiosity. 🤓Flash has a twinge more green to it and is a little brighter, but honestly, they're close enough in my eyes that having one means you don't need the other.
Here's a pic i took a while ago that I think does well to show the difference. Take it out into the sun and see which one it looks closer to. In my eyes yours looks like Flash, but I can't be sure without more photos.
Lemon to the left, Flash to the right.

I can’t find any info on this or maybe I’m just not very good at using the search function.
After wanting an Apple Watch since they came out, but never thinking I actually had the need for one, I’ve finally taken the plunge on a 45mm S9 with sports loop.
I’d really like a magnetic link band for more formal occasions, either a discontinued leather or the fine woven, but I can’t get to an Apple Store any time soon to try them on.
In your experience, to those with a similar sized wrist of 170mm, what size do you go for?
I fit in both categories:
S/M is 140mm-180mm and M/L is 165mm-205mm.
Thanks!
Was agreeing to the first part of the quoted message, hence the +1. Then I offered my take.I don’t understand that +1 as what you seem to be agreeing with („it isn‘t special“) is not the gist of what you have quoted, and also objectively wrong.
Eh. Not an essential, we'll have to disagree. There are many cheaper and easier to find bands that will fill that void.Hence it is special. If you personally don’t care for it very much is another question entirely.
First of all, Lilac is absolutely essential IMO. Loveliest light blue goo we got, by a mile. Our resident strap guru is right, though, in that it isn‘t „purple“ if that‘s what you‘re looking for.

There is, IMHO, no other goo colour that is really similar to Lilac. Hence it is special. If you personally don’t care for it very much is another question entirely.

I told him to stop using this older shot but when I looked at the newest version, it’s even more muddled because I went with an “indoor” edit:No problem wrt disagreeing, colours are subjective anyways.
That "all the blues" picture doesn't prove your point, though It is very nice to have these overviews, but it is absolutely impossible to colour-correct all those bands in one picture.
Which blue band(s) is/are closest to Lilac in the real world in your opinion? Maybe we can get a one-on-one comparison of those.
Forgot I have this nice shot I did when I got Sky, with outdoor shot and edit orientation:

I stand by what I said above. Lilac is the only “bright” light burple.
And subjectively the fact that I hadn’t thought about it in months tells me what I think about it.
I wouldn’t consider U V a burple. Burple means a blue that’s on the purple side not the green side.Thanks, that‘s a great shot!
I would never call it „burple“ because to me the purple element is just so slight. But it has that element which does make it unique among the light blues.
Fair enough. Personally I wear it quite often, but of course once a collection is in the 3-figures (like yours and mine) no single band gets worn all that often anyways.
Also, „unique“ of course doesn‘t automatically make a band essential if it‘s just not your cup of tea. Speaking of „burples“, I had (and sold) Ultraviolet twice. I just never ever put it on.
Mallard is matte/brittle but has a magic sparkle and color shifting outdoors…if you’re okay with a teal experience. I consider mallard/peacock to be the deepest expression of the intersection of blue and green.@athousandbands Believe it or not, I do not have a good dark green sport band....in your opinion, what's the best offering so I can try and hunt one down
Thanks
