Mallard is matte/brittle but has a magic sparkle and color shifting outdoors…if you’re okay with a teal experience. I consider mallard/peacock to be the deepest expression of the intersection of blue and green.

Clover is hard not to rate, although maybe that’s just the relative paucity of “good green.” I wholeheartedly believe the gossip that Jony Ive blocked green bands, so we haven’t received a ton.

Obviously they’re obsessed with their endless line of faded greens since his departure which don’t suit your request.

Don’t mix up Cyprus Green and Cypress 2023.

I like the Cypress sport loop but the amount of green saturation plays mind games with me (the solo loop to an extent too). Cypress solo does have a tad more punch than Eucalyptus but it’s still firmly in that faded Mandalorian register.

And yeah Clover is firmly from that era where 1to3 shop on eBay has tons. And TJ Maxx too

I wouldn’t consider U V a burple. Burple means a blue that’s on the purple side not the green side.

Ok, to me it just means a mixture of blue and purple. So what do you call UV, a purple with tons of blue in it? Plue?

I threw the word burple into DuckDuckGo for some grounding and once I got past some heinous slang definitions, sure Ultra is def on the blue side and I guess purples are included in the Burple palette, but I think for band purposes I like to just call U V a purple, save burple as a kind of loving epithet for tweener bands.

I feel like most civilians would see U V as a fairly straightforward purple, though you’re right it’s very blue whereas a one true purple needs some magenta (ship Pride purple already dammit!)

Perhaps the absurd saturation and vibrance of U V saves it from shady moniker of burple.

Oh Cyprus v Cypress is cruel but also Apple doesn’t think of us collecting old bands like that, most of the people working on softgoods would faint if they saw some of our collections.

And yes I’m in my honeymoon phase with Ultra and have had some amazing archival Hermes yoink luck…just need the Eagles to win some playoff games next month and happiness is secured. Hope you’re well too

As time goes on and I go deep in every single band line, it’s very comforting and satisfying to keep Ultra for Ultra bands, (mostly) steel for hermes and other leather bands, (mostly) aluminum for nike bands.
