I really wish my surf blue would hurry up and arrive. It was supposed to come last Thursday, then Friday and now no sign of it. The tracking info has now reverted back to a delivery date of last Thursday and UPS says they don’t know where it is exactly other than it’s not lost lol.
When I got my watch I intended only to buy one band - it’s my first Apple Watch and I didn’t even know if I would like it so the whole thing was sort of an experiment. Long story short I really do like it and I love wearing accessories and colour so the stone band I bought with it quickly felt insufficient. I think of all the bands I have, pollen is the one that makes me the happiest to look it. It’s such a lovely cheery yellow.

So disappointed I didn’t start collecting until after Pollen was discontinued. Even now, I don’t think I’ve ever bought a single band brand new from Apple, but for occasions like birthdays and Christmas I do like to Ask for ones from the newest season. Would love to get a Pollen one day, but I hadn’t even seen one for sale.

Hoping for the following to come out this summer:

- A red/orange Nike of some sort, similar to my concept
- A canary/pollen like Yellow, something familiar yet unseen before.
- A rich saturated Green, sort of between 2015 Green and Pine.

I think this season will be the first time I am able to buy a few new from Apple, so it’ll definitely be an experience!

Wow I don’t know how to answer that! I don’t think it was a specific band, I had always sort of wrote off the privilege of having a collection of bands at $49+tax. Once I realized I could find and hunt them out for less it became obtainable.. and I realized just how MANY there are - where before I didn’t follow them due to again - the price. I had a couple nice unique bands off Etsy, and little knowledge of Apple’s collection otherwise. If I had jumped into this earlier there’s definitely some bright and now impossible to find bands I’d want to buy directly. I bought into the AW family from a used series 3 but I’m collecting now at series 5. I’ve always had other interests that took my time and money, but this took its place for now and I went from having 1 official to 18 in a month+.

I also want to add, it was more so getting a stainless body after owning aluminum, that made me want to collect bands for it. It’s so much more appreciated by me and beautiful than the aluminum which was something useful that I wore for useful purposes - stainless made it a thing of beauty and not just a tool.

I’m excited for the summer bands myself! Hope they live up to your expectations, and probably everyone’s when it comes to that green you described, which sounds perfect. I didn’t start collecting bands when pollen was out - it was the first band I got from chargerstore and they still have it available but I know you’ve said you don’t care for the long wait times (I struggle with them too!) and their pricing is not as good as other bands you’ve bought on EBay. In addition to green I’d like a nice bright purple or something neon pink.

Here's an interesting topic question.

What was the first band you saw and thought "Yep, I've gotta have that." and thus started your collections?

I ordered my first watch (Nike S3 w/ Anthracite/Black band) in 2017 with Ultraviolet (also had the Ultraviolet iPhone case). I wore the Uv 99% of the time the first year. Purple's my fav color...

When the S4 came out in 2018 & they changed the size from 42 to 44mm but the bands still fit. That's when I realized if Apple kept them compatible it'd be cool.

My house had gotten flooded in hurricane Irma (2017). A tornado ripped the roof off & flooded everything. I had a lot of large & small things to replace, but shouldn't until I got a permanent roof. They just finished the roof in late January 2020. So starting in 2018 I got new bands, all of which I could fit in a drawer & most not worry if the house flooded again.

I’m not sure what I would do the next time I upgrade, assuming I could afford the ss at that time. I like the price of the aluminum, esp for a watch that has a limited lifespan, but the stainless is very pretty.

Awesome memory! A neon pink is possible, but I’m not sure how likely it is. We’ll see some sort of Purple this fall I’m sure, but it won’t be a Summer release. All previous purple bands have been fall releases.

Thought you were going to say the tornado flew your bands all over town, and I was gonna cry for you. Always good to hear a happy ending.

Also, really jealous of your UV. Still on the hunt for one at $50 or below. Ugh!

I got my Apple Watch at the end of this past December as a very nice birthday present from my parents. It's the Titanium Edition so it came with the Light Grey sport band, which at first I had no appreciation for and, I added on the stainless milanese loop, which was the one Apple Watch band I always admired before knowing anything about Apple Watch bands.

I wanted the Apple Watch primarily not to have to run with my iPhone, but at first I didn't love the looks of the light grey sport band and the milanese isn't great for running as it gets loose on your wrist, so I got a summit white sport loop, figuring I could return it if I didn't like it and, a saddle brown leather loop to wear to work. Well, I was hooked on both bands and pretty soon I had ordered a white leather loop and a stainless link from chargerstore and another sport loop used on eBay. Since staying at my girlfriend's parents house with a pool during quarantine I have gained a new appreciation for sport bands and have gone a little crazy with those. I should post a picture of my collection one of these days.

I upgrade every year so I get aluminum. I don't know that I've ever seen anyone wearing anything else, altho I don't know how I could tell them apart? it all looks like silver, black/grey, gold, or white on the outside?

If I wasn't upgrading, I'd be tempted to have the black titanium and white ceramic. They don't seem to hold their value for something that has big upgrades each year (with the exception of S4 to S5).

It went like this.. I seek out a good deal first, usually someone who got it as a gift or something and didn’t care for it. Bought series 3 aluminum for $230. Sold the series 3 for $300. Bought a series 4 aluminum for $200! Sold series 4 for $300... Bought series 5 stainless for $440.. total cost spent on apple watches $200-300? Idk I had a rough night of little sleep but you get the picture. I know stainless new isn’t in my realm, even if it was it would HURT paying $800?!

Edit: OH and for a day I owned a series 5 aluminum, but I flipped for I think $60 that I put towards my SS now.

The ultra violet is the One band that still escapes me. I’ve been close a few times and the most recent time it never arrived. I’d be willing to pay over $50 if someone had a sealed one.

I’ve been lucky to get a lot of the hard to find ones like Flash, Rose Red, Blue Orbit...but man, Ultra Violet just cant be found by me... and it really has become my White Whale...

I found one for my wife about two months ago and thought I was going to get one in 42mm for me, but again, it fell through in the mail. So, its even more of a hunt now, I MUST acquire one...

Please do! We love to see them.

We don’t bite... usually.
One day I will. There's a couple bands I had sent to New York before fleeing to Florida mid-March when we got the okay to work from home that I would like to have in the picture. Also, regarding chargerstore, there are a couple bands I've ordered that he's posted in Europe (so, European currency) and these have gotten to me pretty quickly, like less than two weeks.

That's impressive! I've resold all of my iterations of iPhones after upgrading and I thought I've done well, but I can't say I ever made back what I paid for them.

I'm not really a purple guy. But I'm loving this hyper grape sport band. So glad I got in on the BB sale!

Hyper Grape SB is probably the most reasonably priced purple out there. Picked mine up NIB for $40 on eBay maybe 3 months before BestBuy listed it. You’ll be hard-pressed to find UV for anything close to that, if at all.

If you have a 44mm Watch I may be able to help you, a store near to my location has Pollen in stock ;)

The stainless is shiny whereas the aluminum is more matte. I’ve only seen aluminum ones on others as well. I love the look of the ceramic watch and if money was no object, I would get one because I think it looks so good with the sport bands.

I'm really glad, at least so far, the Nike Sport Bands and Hermès bands don't do anything for me, otherwise I'd be spending more of a small fortune than I've already spent on Apple Watch bands. Then again I've avoided looking at either section too closely in the image with all of the bands lest I be tempted!

That’s some very shrewd buying and selling! Well done. Yes the cost of a new ss would be painful for me if I wanted to upgrade yearly.
