Help. Do these look like blue horizon to you guys? I’m no expert on blues, and I know this one can shape shift. (Not my photos).

If these are pictures of the same band, it‘s impossible to tell. The quality of the pictures is just too bad and the band looks wildy different in #1 vs #2-3.

I tend to agree with this. It looks like a pic of Horizon followed by two of midnight.

I can’t get my horizon to look like pics 2-3 in any lighting conditions, dim or otherwise. Might be best to ask for better pictures or even better, outdoor pictures if that’s a possibility.

I had asked for different lighting, so yes, supposedly all the same, and he was positive it was horizon. But it seems he has 3 posts on eBay for the same band. I don’t know if that’s a mistake or if he has multiple I hadn’t asked yet. Buying these colors online can be rough. Take a look for yourself. https://ebay.com/usr/joltenj667

My top guesses are Delft and Alaskan. Mostly leaning towards Alaskan, as the color of the lugs in relation to the band look about like Alaskan Blue.

Not filling me with confidence! Ha.

So about pinks. I’d love a light pink because it reminds me of bubblegum, but it’s not easy to come by or cheap it seems, is there anyone with a light pink that can compare it to vintage rose or grapefruit or both? <3

the only pink I have is “pink” the original orangish one.

Royal Blue, Lavender, Lavender Gray and Fog (I don’t have Light Grey). Indirect daylight on a bright day in New Zealand, iPhone 11 Pro Max
Echoing others, but these colors look really off - Royal Blue is darker than I see it in real life, and your Lavender Gray looks like an entirely different color than the one I have.

I know lavender is more like a light grey with a lilac(ish) tint? And lavender gray can look lighter or darker depending on lighting. I’m not at home but I can pull up a few of my lavender gray in daylight conditions. Just random shots on my wrist after I received it. Inside it’s definitely darker. I can see it pulling that dark with wonky white balance. F11CB5DA-756B-49F2-BE21-D5927AC9B7C7.jpeg19A87DCE-866E-4EC5-9644-8DFDCA64D702.jpeg

OK, fair call.

Same Royal Blue, Lavender, Lavender Gray, Fog in better indirect daylight on a white table.

And right inside the window on a Space Grey iPad.

Lighting makes a huge difference, clearly, but I also thing this combo on a white background is confusing the iPhone and it’s picking a bad colour balance.

The bottom one is closest to the IRL colours to my eye.

On that note, I found what appears to be a Horizon that is mislabeled as Royal Blue. The 44mm marking is a dead giveaway.

I saw that one, I liked it. Good to know it’s the color i was looking for!

$40 and you can see the shine from heavy use? No thanks.

If you’re after Horizon, just be patient. Bought mine for $15 NIB.

Agreed. Lavender grey in the bottom photo is a good likeness. And yes lighting really changes the look of the band. As it does all colours I guess.

Today I’m wearing my least favourite band - the Milanese loop that I was given as a present. I have an Aluminum Apple Watch and I know many of you don’t like this combo, preferring a stainless steel case. I actually think it looks ok because the band is not very shiny and goes well (to me) with the matte AL case. However I find the band uncomfortable and pinchy, and nowhere near as comfy as the sport bands.

Lol I wish I could commission you to find bands for me. You get them at great prices!

Now that we’re in the picture train, does anyone have lilac, lavender grey, azure and light grey or concrete grey to show together?

Here's an interesting topic question.

What was the first band you saw and thought "Yep, I've gotta have that." and thus started your collections?

My answer is a bit boring, being White. Saw it at Walmart for $20, bought it the next day. Also picked up Midnight Blue, just because they had it for the same price. From then on, I had always looked at retail stores clearance sections and technology sections for any discounted bands, as I loved how my watch looked brand new with a different band. After a month or two of looking in physical stores, I realized I could look online, and within the past 8 months or so, I've picked up around 60.

Before collecting OEM bands, I actually had a knockoff red and black/volt (which was really black/yellow, knockoffs don't seem to get volt right) which I would switch out every so often, but unfortunately the red one fell apart where the connector was, and the black/volt was thrown away because it started to smell. After that, I went back to the standard black. Never using chinese fakes again.

Sadly enough, I've since moved to a more dry and dusty climate, where I can't really wear white anymore as it'd get ruined pretty quick. Still got many others to choose from, though. It's a stupid little hobby, but I love collecting the different colors.

I started collecting from day 1, technically. Ordered my first (S0 AW SBSS) which was only available with the SBSSLB initially (still my favorite formal option), and added the Black SB (SBSS pin, of course) within the same order. Red g1 and Fog were my first band-specific orders, I believe.

I also started from day 1. I ordered my S0 SS with black LL on the day that the Watch went live for "fittings" as I happened to be in the UK at the time visiting family. I had to get it delivered to my mothers and then get it shipped to me in NZ, which was even more hassle than getting my wife's Hermes from Australia in March.

I also ordered a black Sport Band with the watch. I then ordered all of the launch colour bands, but Apple kept rejecting my order when I tried to order them all at once (seriously) so I had to do it over several orders / weeks.

Stupidly when the first block of new colours came out I didn't carry on getting all of them, instead going for just the ones I liked, and thinking with Blue ge1 and Midnight I had enough blues etc. I still bought Product Red, Midnight and Orange from the first drop (and my wife got Product Red, Turquoise and Lavender).

Stupid, stupid, stupid not to have bought them all as they came out though, given I had all of them for a while...

Wow I don’t know how to answer that! I don’t think it was a specific band, I had always sort of wrote off the privilege of having a collection of bands at $49+tax. Once I realized I could find and hunt them out for less it became obtainable.. and I realized just how MANY there are - where before I didn’t follow them due to again - the price. I had a couple nice unique bands off Etsy, and little knowledge of Apple’s collection otherwise. If I had jumped into this earlier there’s definitely some bright and now impossible to find bands I’d want to buy directly. I bought into the AW family from a used series 3 but I’m collecting now at series 5. I’ve always had other interests that took my time and money, but this took its place for now and I went from having 1 official to 18 in a month+.

I actually started out with a SG aluminium S0 with black sport band – and thought that was all I needed. What sold me on both the look of the SS Watch in general and its versatility to use different bands were pictures from the "Apple Watch Diary" of Christy Turlington who used the Watch to train for her first marathon run, and specifically this one with the original "Pink" band (which is more of a Coral colour):

Went in day 1 for fitting (actually, my analog watches are comparatively small - 36-38mm - and I wasn’t sure if the 42mm would be too big), and ordered a 42mm Space Gray Sport (S0) with the black sport band (was that the only option?) as well as a green sport band, and a black leather loop (all online while standing in the store after the fitting). So, day one collector. Have picked up colors as they strike my fancy. I try not to count them, as that would lead to math, and math would lead to suffering.

I don’t want to stop anyone else posting on how they got into collecting bands, however I got my Beryl, Surf Blue and Black / Lime Blast bands today.

I need to compare in daylight, but the green in Lime Blast is way paler than I was expecting. Not pale exactly, but more like Spearmint and less like green highlighter than I was expecting.

I didn’t put it on my Watch after it arrived as I wore my SS today for the first time since getting my SBSS, and I didn’t like Black / Volt until I saw it on the black body.

I also caved and bought the crazily over priced folio for my iPad Pro (and it’s a 12.9” so it’s even more crazily overpriced than the 11” one). I’ve had several cheap Amazon cases and they’ve all gone from being something I didn’t really like when new to being scuzzy and / or broken within a few months. I know from Smart Covers that they last well but can get grubby.

Anyway, I went with Surf Blue which should be OK (my wife had Pollen and I had what might have been Turquoise for our 10.5” Pros, and they cleaned up OK if they got grubby where fingers were on them a lot). I like how easy it is to take it off, and even on it feels much nicer than what I have had before. The iPad is much lighter to hold without a cover also. At last the price I might even recommend it.
