Color predictions for the summer line up? ANYBODY?!![]()
As I've mentioned previously, all Fall 2019 colors will be discontinued. If Nike participates this year, spring colors may disappear as well, though it's unlikely.
Looking at the previous summer releases, I think it's possible we'll see the following:
Sport Bands
- Some form of a seafoam/jade green, a mix between marine and spearmint.
- A bright red, more saturated version of red raspberry, mix between red raspberry and rose red. (Primrose?)
- A medium yellow, similar to Canary.
- If we're lucky, a deep purple, like an indigo/plum color.
- Carrot color (to replace Clementine- Apple has previously kept at least 1 orange-pink option available, so it wouldnt surprise me.)
Sport Loops
- 2-tone style will remain
- Indigo/plum option from the sport band will be carried over.
- Primrose-y color will be carried over.
- Possible yellow, like the Canary sport loop, but with a darker, 2015 yellowish border and a medium yellow second tone
- jade/seafoam color will be carried over
Nike Sport Bands
Possible participation by Nike this season as fall colors will be removed, leaving only 5 options if they don't refresh with new colors.
- Red/Orange combination, sort of a red version of Blue Orbit/Gamma Blue.
- Yellow/Black, a classic spring-y/summer-y color paired with black. Nike & Apple both know it'd sell, and it fits with Nike's recent color palates.
- Flamingo/Vivid Purple color? As Pink Blast gets discontinued, there aren't really any feminine options. Combined with the fact that Summer 2017 gave us Light Violet/White & Violet Dust/Plum Fog, I think this one is quite possible.
Nike Sport Loops
- Going back to @jeremyfernie's magma sport loop concept, I think a red/orange combo, maybe a ditto of the sport band is possible with black borders.
- Yellow/Volt combo within black borders could be possible. Would also maybe be the only sport loop I'd consider buying, because wow, Yellow & Black.
- Apple likes symmetry, so I think the third and final Nike SL will be in that Vivid Purple color. A more saturated and less neon version of Pink Blast.
Leather Loops
- As (RED) proceeds go to fighting COVID for now, I think we may see a Product Red branded leather loop to raise more money.
- A newer, darker version of the previous Storm Gray maybe, could be what the Coastal Gray color is for.
- Meyer Lemon, despite being a Fall 2019 color, will likely remain as it's Apple's go-to for advertising the ceramic S5, and Yellow being a summer color as well, I doubt it's going anywhere.
I have high doubts Apple will be coming out with another blue. Instead, Surf Blue will remain on sale for those interested in a blue. If I'm correct in all of this, which isn't very likely, there truly will be a sport band for everyone, as each color of the rainbow will be offered at once.
And once again, I think the following will be discontinued:
- Clementine SB
- Lemon Cream SB
- Beryl SB
- Pine Green SB
- Alaskan Blue SB
- Khaki SB
- Desert Sand/Black SB
- Royal Pulse/Black SB
- Black/Pink Blast SB
- Midnight Turquoise/Aurora Green SB (maybe)
- Camel SL (good riddance, that thing is ugly)
- Alaskan Blue SL
- Pomegranate SL
- Khaki SL
- Pink Blast/True Berry SL
- Royal Pulse/Lava Glow SL
- Desert Sand/Volt SL
- Hyper Crimson/Neptune Green SL (maybe)

I'd wait if you're on the fence. It's not getting discontinued any time soon.I’m 100% sold on the look of it but am trying to be prudent considering more bands might come next month that I also want.

Oh, side note, I think with the release of the Series 6, Apple will go through and completely change out all the standard configs.
Pure Platinum/Black and Anthracite/Black may be replaced with other neutral tones and Pink Sand will be discontinued, while black and white bands will stay, as I just can't see Apple discontinuing the longest running color.
Apple wants this to look like a new, different watch, and keeping the same band colors they've had for the past 3+ years now may not be the best way to differentiate the new from the old.
