They only explained it because they knew they’d be called out for it. If they could get away with it, they’d only say titanium and use lies-by-omission to make you think it was full titanium without straight up lying.
Cool mind reading act you got going there!

Dude, I own $15.000 carbon fibre sports equipment. And just what it said, it is 100% of the highest grade carbon fibre only that was used.

Apple is simply lying that it is a Titanium iPhone.

You know exactly what Apple is doing.
What about the resin holding the "100%" carbon fiber together?

You single handedly wipe out every single law regarding intent from the law books. WOW! What’ll do for your second accomplishment of your life next?
You single handedly wipe out every rule of evidence. Hint: Your "hunch" or "feeling" is worthless garbage.

Regarding your #1 point about strength, yes I've seen the drop tests. But we can't be 100% sure this happens due to titanium. It could be another design issue, similar to how the iPhone 5 bended. You're not wrong, but I don't think this falls under the category of "misleading" by Apple. Agree to disagree. 👍

Your #2 point, I agree. I was comparing steel vs titanium, that's where the miscommunication occurred.

The last side note steel vs. titanium, that's not part of your original points so I won't go further. We don't know what exactly is behind the increased bendability. But to call the whole lineup and marketing a bamboozling, is a stretch in my opinion.
That's fair. I hear you. If they wanted to make the iPhone 15 Pro lighter, they could have also used Aluminum instead of Titanium and probably accomplished and even lighter phone. Appreciate he respectful discourse end wish you all the best. It raised the question how much better is stainless Steele to aluminum. I just don't know but don't think I'd notice a difference. I will personally experience ZERO value added of having Titanium

Those are three statements you made that do not counter anything I said. Look closely again at what I wrote. Details matter. That’s totally fine that you don’t use a case and you like how the side feels it doesn’t feel any different to me at all, but I never made a comment if you look above about how it feels in my hand that is something else. The lighter weight is true, but has nothing to do with the titanium. the only thing you disagreed with is I said the titanium is 100% hype because of what they are claiming on TV, it being stronger and lighter. The titanium is not lighter, and the fact that paper, thin wrap round of titanium is stronger than aluminum, default to being a worthless Utility, because the phone itself is not stronger and the front and back break exponential. Simply go to YouTube and look at the durability and droptests. Also I’ll never understand people that don’t use a case but that’s great if you like how the edges feel. Feels the exact same for me. My larger argument is the strength and the weight which are being falsely marketed.
How do the front or back "exponential"? This is a failure mode I'm unfamiliar with.

I understand what you’re saying. It’s very confusing and frustrating when I keep going online and reading. “Using an industry-first thermo-mechanical process, the titanium bands encase a new substructure made from 100 percent recycled aluminum, bonding these two metals with incredible strength through solid-state diffusion. The aluminum frame helps with thermal dissipation and allows the back glass to be easily replaced.Sep 12, 2023” —- I’m currently in the process of trying to find the tear down video that I saw the other week. Please keep in mind, I am only referring to the wraparound band. I saw elsewhere on the Apple website where it said “iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max feature a beautiful surgical-grade stainless steel and textured matte glass design in four stunning colors.” - but again, I just wanna make sure we’re talking about the band that wraps around the outside of the phone only. That’s all I’m talking about for the 15 (not 15 Pro)
Well there's your problem right there.

What

What is “SS”? Also you said it’s lighter. Titanium is not lighter than the prior aluminum frame. it’s heavier. The phone is lighter overall but that’s not the titanium or the frame.
SS means stainless steel .

lol you guys still at it ? after 1 month plus of launching. marketing gimmick or marketing fluff all tech companies does that. samsung/ google and apple etc they are all guilty of that anyway. end of the day you as the consumer be the better judge of it before you decide to purchase. what are i am saying is either you get it device if you like it , or dont.

The Ti frame was mostly hype to sell phones. I never thought my 14vPM was too heavy and they could have just used SS on the 15 PM and it would have been fine with me. As technology only advances incrementally and there are no "giant leaps", Apple has to do something to rev up sales.

A lot of people complained that it is getting too heavy. Just because you didn’t mind, doesn’t mean everyone was happy with it.

Almost noone is unhappy if it gets lighter, since it makes it more comfortable to use and carry around. (Except for a few „feels cheaper“ cries)

Definitely not just for hype. If anything, SS deserved that designation, because it was just heavier without any real benefit except look „shiny“

Personally would be happy with „just“ aluminum
