gosh the complaining about what these kids setups are needs to stop, i mean i have paid for 95% of all of my stuff not just computer stuff. there is nothing wrong with getting a job and making money at a young age and then spending it on stuff u want, i started my first business at the age of 13 and made a total of $900 in one summer, it was just lawn mowing but i worked hard to earn that money. last year i started a web design company and i've already made over $2000 and i also work for my dad in which i get paid $10 an hour and over the corse of the last two years have made around $5000. i will be 15 in a just over a month and i think that it's awesome if someone is gonna go after what they want, even if that kid has his parents help him out a little.

What complaining? Did you even read my post?

IMO, if the parent or someone else bought them like a desktop or a laptop, that's cool and i'm all for it, because every kid should have a decent computer. But it gets kinda sick when a kid has an iMac, macbook, all hooked up to a huge screen on the wall or some sort, and has an ipod touch, iphone, old ipod, and so on all in his / her own room. I flipped through the thread a bit and thats some of what i saw. That is what i meant in my first post.

 Geez, so many kids here have these elite setups. As long as they bought it all themselves or did something amazing to get it...

I'm 17, don't have a picture because i just reformatted my computer, but my current laptop is a little over 2 years old now. I also work, but instead of spending it all and saved for a while, i get to have an amazing car. :)

FYI, I do MUCH work in designing + web development. It's gotten to the point where i'm finally seeing some returns. Now, doing work for a single client can pay for my entire setup. I've been saving up for a while now (and eyeing certain items on my desk from the internet for more than a year now). Needless to say, the amount I have in savings is way more than I have spent on my setup. In fact, I started out on a 14'' Dell Inspiron 600M (something that I still use to this day). I've only added 2 GBs of RAM over the years, because it's perfectly fine for graphics work. If i'm moving into some heavy media editing, that's when an MBP will come in handy. But it won't for a while.

Although, I do agree with some of you here. Some VERY young kids getting setups that I used to dream about (and to put icing on the cake, they highlight and bold their age so we can all see how young they are). Around a couple of months ago, I would look at this thread in disgust. But it's whatever, right? They are merely lucky sperm.

So instead of trolling on how our 'age' doesn't match with our 'income', you should take into consideration that not everyone is sitting around all day asking mommy and daddy to write checks and putting down deposits for their desktop toys.

In addition, buying a car is no better than buying desktop items. My monitor, mouse.. they all pay for themselves. To me, they're investments, not bragging rights. On top of buying a car, you'll need to pay for maintenance, tires once treads wear thin, and insurance. In effect, your car will be your owner, and not the other way around. At this rate, I could lease a pretty damn good car myself. But I choose not to go through those liabilities. My laptop is 4 years old. What's your point?

In a respectable sense, I have offered my parents to keep their money they saved up for me for college and put it towards asset expansion. I'm paying for college tuition myself, and i'm just trying to retain my sanity by improving my surroundings.

So for those who make accusations that we are all spoiled kids, we are not. I have hustled like crazy to get where I am today. What have you done?

The bottom line is that it is absolutely not your place to judge the posters in this thread based on their setup. It isn't any of our business to know how they received what they have or if they need all that power.

The point of this thread is to see cool setups, not to bicker about how/why they own it or what you had when you were their age.

Can we please continue with the thread now? :)

I'm 15, most my stuff is in my sig. Had the dual screen 19" monitors when I built my first PC when I just turned 13. Got the MacBook Christmas just gone along with the 22" wide screen monitor above it. Built the Hackintosh system at the end of 2006 only just put OSX on it a few weeks ago, will probably upgrade to 4GB ram soon.

Will hopefully replace the Hackintosh with a Mac Pro by the end of the year as I'm going to start working soon.

Looking at a lot of the setups in this thread has made me appreciate all my stuff a whole lot more than I used too. You guys got some pretty nice setups too.

Hey, who are those dual 19" monitors made by? They look kind of cool.

Also, what motherboard are you using for the hackintosh?

They look like LGs to me.

Is it easy birthing a Hackintosh? I might get a PC soon, for gaming, but it'd be fun to install OS X on it.

They are LG screens M1910A is the model number, I doubt they make them anymore as I bought them a few years ago now.

Oh and I'm using a Gigabyte DQ6 P965 Motherboard in the Hackintosh :). I'm not sure if I can talk specifics about the Hackintosh on here though, your best off googling OSX86 you should then find out everything you need to know about Hackintosh's. It is pretty easy to make Hackintosh if you read up on it :).

Amazing as it sounds, I had (and still have, not on desk anymore) a brand new iMac G5 in my room when I was 8 years old (yes, 8)! (SuperDrive!)

That's nothing! When I was 8, I had a brand new Mac Pro 3.0ghz 8-core...

Wait, were they even out then...

I jest :p

I make $15.00/hr developing software 8 hours a day 5 days a week this summer.

I'm 14. Lets just say 15-cores in total, 9 screens in total. And helluva-lotta fun. Now watch a bunch of adults say raghrgrhgaagh you don't need that kinda stuff. I'm developing software doing some video work and espn is one of my clients. I do.

How long has the summer been going on for?

The first piece of my setup will be the Mac Pro which I am getting next Saturday.

8-core 2.8GHz 2GB RAM (Will upgrade from owc). (e2008 version)

But as my setup changes I will post every time.

Some of you have really nice setups

Seems as though most of you appreciate them and are not cocky about it. :)

At the same time, this is nothing to the BMW forum I hang out at where 15 year olds are driving $50k cars.. Just saw a 17 year old with a $120k Mercedes there, and he seemed like a really nice guy and took the spiteful comments well

Im 14.
Note:there should be a iPhone in that collection, but i used it as the camera :(
Are you using an Elgato tuner to play the Wii on your iMac? I have a Mac Mini and a Elgato Hybrid and I still have a bit of lag that makes it unplayable, even when I go into game mode.
