Well I don't say you can fully say that a 15 year old shouldn't be buying a $2500 macpro. Just think, He won't have to get a new computer for a long time in that its way ahead of all the consumer level computers right now.

I also wouldn't say that kids "Milk their parents". My mom got a new car so she just gave her old car to my sister without her asking. My sister was #1 in her class, went to regular school for 1/2 the day and then would go to a Math and Science academy for the 2nd 1/2 of the day. She would get out of school early to play soccer during soccer season so she had to do a lot of school work at home. When she wasn't playing soccer she would get home after 5:30. She really had no time to work.

I hope my parents hand me a 2 year old ($36,000) car. Knowing them they will probably tell me to get a job and pay for it on my own.

i pay gas, insurance, 2 cell phones (about to be one though), internet bill , my truck payment. and now i have to pay off my credit card bill for my mac pro....the tuff times of building credit....im 18, 19 in 2 months though

I don't have a credit card...don't have credit. I think credit cards shouldn't be issued until you're done with college myself.
 
Also, iGary, off-topic, are you gonna get a rev. B MacBook Pro and a MacPro when PS go universal?

I will most likely sell the PB and get a MBP when Adobe goes Universal yes.

This G4, bless it's heart, sucks ass. I see no need to upgrade my desktop, however. :)

Well if apple would get their act together and would put Composite and/or S-Video inputs in their Cinema Displays are not charge 2x as the dell monitor, perhaps I would buy an apple.

On another note, not directed towards you iGary, a thirty inch cinema display is exactly that, a 30 inch cinema display. There's no bloody reason whatsoever that computer monitors (particularly of that size) shouldn't have those types of connections. I mean, a 30-inch cinema display is a 30-inch cinema display.

Too much for a first car, I am looking at a 5 year old, Jeep Cherokee.
 
Heres my setup as of now. Just got the 250gig LaCie HD a few days ago. Cough...10.5..cough:D

Jeep Cherokee's own! I have a '98 Green on and I love it! Looked at a few 2000's and 2001's, but this one had really low miles, so I went with the older year but less miles instead of only 5 years old but tons of miles.
 
Its running really good actually. Its installed on a separate partition on my External, so I boot it up whenever I want to mess with it. I really want to buy an Intel Mac so I can boot up Vista as well. Thatd be gangstar. I really want a MacPro but I know those Quad-Core chips are just around the corner. Hopefully by Christmas time they'll be out. I should have enough money from work by then....I think Apple is updating their stuff way to frequently(besides the freaking ipod's which I need but dont want to buy and then be screwed over the next week.) and its pain when you plan on buying something.

Oh right. Your Quad will last you a few years I guess.;) What are the specs anyway? I know it has 8 GB RAM, but how about HDD, GPU, Wireless...:D
 
A lot of people have really nice set ups. I will post mine as soon as I can. I have a pretty nice set up, glass desk, a fast comp, my little bitty Macbook.

It also seems like there are a lot of hard workers here too. My friends come over, and I have a Razr, and my ipod, and my pda, and my Macbook siting on one side of my desk, and ask me where I get it all, and all I say is this "I work hard for my money". And I'm only 17, I have been working at a great Job for almost a year now, and I love it. Moving rite along, going from one postiont to another, I work three positions at my work right now, and pretty soon, four.

There are people who work hard, and there are people who work smart.
Always look for better oppurtinitys, if a new position opens up at ur job, and it has better pay/benefits, by golly try to get it, let the manager know you want to MOVE UP. Maybe one day, you will have someone asking you for that new job.

You can get anything in life, nothing is free, nothing is. No matter what, you have to work for everything, or someone else does...

But, awesome desktops, and I'll post mine as soon as I get some pics.

My neighbors are in their mid 50's, never had kids, and are like in love with me. They are determined in giving me their 1996/1997 Grand Cherokee laredo. I don't really want it though- nor my other neighbors 1996 Discovery 1.

If i got some money or something, I would definately get a Jeep Commander. In addition to 40 k in Apple Stuff, a 25k home theater, and the DirecTV titanium package.

Perhaps, but if my parents offer to get me a car, a 9/10 year old jeep would not be my first choice.

Without a car here, you can do absolutely nothing.

My mom and I looked at the Jeep Commander briefly one day.

These are my personal gripes about the car
1) Needs round headlights, not square
2) The exposed bolts on the fender look stupid
3) The fenders should be rounded, not squared off
4) There is no 2nd row leg room
5) There is no 3rd row leg room or depth creating a very uncomfortable seating situation
6) There is absolutely no trunk space the 3rd row deployed
7) You cannot see out the back of it for s***
8) The rear HVAC controls are in the 3rd row- I think it would be more practical to have them located in the 2nd row.
9) Very cheap interior quality

Basically, its a Land Rover LR3 wanna be, thats has too many flaws.

I dunno, in 2003 they gave my sister a 2 year old car (2001 Grand Cherokee Limited V8). I would hope for them to get me a nice car as well.
 
i was going to post my setup, but without pics whats the point? when my mbp comes back from apple, ill post pictures

hey, whats wrong with putting only a setup without pic?? :p i dont have a camera at this moment, so my only option was to write it out...:eek:
 
I have posted a bunch of pictures before of my setup but I am in a town house at school and it is one big mess so I wouldn't want to show it off. It is just my MBP and my 4 ext hd's and my eye tv ez tunner anyhow. But yeah I would rather show off my car I have and love.
