and why is there a magnet in the remote, is it the battery that's magnetic?

Its the same remote as in iMac. iMac's side is magnetic, so it is used to attach a remote to it :)

so i'm supposed to put my remote on the top corner of my macbook? it's a feature of the machine?

Last look at setup before I get a new desk and stuff.

iMac

My imac is actually running tiger 10.4.8. My pc isnt that bad, but it still makes pretty nice paperweight. Its funny to run vnc on the pc in fullscreen controlling the imac, and peopel think the pc is running os x.

No. I was saying that in iMac, you attach the remote magnetically to the side of it. MacBook just uses the same remote (with magnet), but its not a feature of MB.

Saving, I saved for 10 months to get this MBP and had to sell both of my computers to get it. Once I get a job then I'll hopefully get a Mac Pro :D.

Saving? Well it works only when you have what to save, really.

With my pretty low "income" (mainly money, given to me as presents for big holidays - birthday, New Year, etc) I still have to pay for the internet myself. This leaves no room for saving big money (anything larger than $40-80). :( I need a laptop for university...

your imac is a great system, id just look around for an old pismo for your portable needs. you dont need a beast to take notes or write up papers, and when you come home you have a nice desktop to sync with

Yea, I know that, however, my parents are not monsters (I hope :D), I constantly remind them of my "lust for Mac notebook"... Lets see what they have for me for my birthday (February). Till then I could probably live with this mom's Asus old laptop...

I'm having to live with my Dad's Dell notebook at the moment, and it's a horrible experience. First time I've used Winblows at length since I got my MBP, and I absolutely hate it. My MBP is in for repair at the moment (possible faulty logic board), should get it back by or on Wednesday... :)

Im home from school sick and I'm bored. I wish I was riding.:p
