to quote from my favourite TV Show Stargate.

I hope you are right.
I'm not usually a praying man, but Jobs, if you are out there, Listen To Josias! He gives hope to people like us.
How bout 4GB RAM?
I love X1800 and Merom 2.33

I dunno if my 512 MB VRAM option is too crazy. It will make it excellent for portable heavy graphics work (and 'course gaming).:D

Oh, and Silentwave, there is no way they're getting 3 or 4 RAM slots inthere. They will neither give you a 4 GB RAM option, since it will more than double the price of the computer...:p

I think you're inquiry is a bit premature. Try again in 5 months.

5 months? No way.

Apple will be taking orders for the 64-bit Merom-based MBP starting with Jobs' keynote on August 7th. It is even possible that we will see a case redesign then, though my crystal ball isn't as clear on that one.

I think we will see a case re-design.. A few other slight bumps possibly processor.. but i just don't understand why Apple is doubleing the time of revisions compared to the Powerbook revisions. Ever since they went Intel its like bam bam bam..

Because they have to more or less follow Intel's timeline to keep up with the competition.

Wouldnt it make sense for Apple to sell all of its existing inventory first at the highest possible price before they start selling something new? This is the typical marketing game computer manufacturers play with the consumer and Apple is no exception. As of now I dont believe they have slowed production on the current model and August is a month away. I wouldn't be surprised if they wait until next year to begin sales on the Merom MBP

I don't find that very probable, since they want them out to compete on the market. I believe they will be annoucned on August 7th, and ship on september 16th, when the student iPod Nano offer ends. Merom is released August 22nd.

The only competiton that apple is going to have in the intel notebook competition will be Lenevo, everyone else is going AMD becasue Apple and Lenevo are already slated to get a majority of the Merom's ...(This is the reason why Dell went AMD)
