Depending how far out they are back-ordered people will definitely pay that. If this thing slips in to March 2018 like some are predicting flipping prices will definitely soar.
I think $3000, while people are saying this, is very close to just a pipe dream. If it were that easy to flip for that much, you bet I'd be fighting my way to get one. To flip.
There are several complaining about the $1k base price with no markup. Even if you were lucky to land a celebrity or moneybags paying >$2000, it's no a guaranteed andvis purely by chance.
$1700 for base more realistic for the desperate (which I am not)

You are taking away the overseas customer base with deep pockets. $3k will be easy to get on release day.
The cost of not preordering is that you wait a bit longer to get the phone. Paying well above the value of the phone is the price of your own impatience. Only you can decide how much that will cost you.

Will pre-orders/shipping dates be pushed to mid 2018 within seconds or minutes? (I know it's either minutes or seconds, but I'm trying to figure out how many devices to use. I have 3 iPads + my Phone to use for this so I figure one will get through maybe.)
