Worse than iPhone 15. Symptoms from the first half an hour. At least with normal 15 symptoms started the next day. I have already send it back from day one. Now i am waiting a pro max and testing is over for me :)
ahh more bad news! sorry to hear that - looks like there's no escape. Is there much validity in the claims iOS 17 is causing people with the LCD iPhone 11 to now have sensitivity issues? if so, even moving back to that dinosaur is out the question

Yeah. To me experience with 11 is worse.

Even if I managed to find a new phone that I could use without pain. Would I really want to spend £1k+ on a device that could become unusable with the wrong software update?

I am lucky I was in the window to roll back otherwise I would be scouring gumtree/ebay for someone selling an 11 which was still running IOS16.

Hello everyone, i’ve been silently reading this thread for a couple of weeks, since i’m also sensitive to flickering screens and would also really like to upgrade from iPhone 11 (non pro), but it’s completely unclear how you can jump into this abyss when choosing between four potentially deadly depths.

I wanted to share my experience, seeing messages about the screen deteriorating to 11 after a software update. In my case, i updated my phone to the current version of iOS on the release day - not a hint of a problem. The screen remains as extremely pleasant as it was. I can read from it for hours. It's a pity that Apple decided to abandon this feature in its phones.

It seems others are having problems with the iPhone 11 on iOS!7, but I upgraded my 11 to 17.03 and am having no problems at all. It looks the same as 16 to me. Any OLED screen still seems to give me trouble, though.

This phenomenon- iOS updates jacking with the display now makes more sense.
I had an iPhone 8 Plus that I updated to iOS 14 (back in the day) and all was fine — for about a year.
I dutifully installed all the incremental updates for iOS 14 and — then developed problems looking at that screen. It seemed to almost shimmer. 9 months it was fine, then it became unusable for me.
The only thing that changed was updating the OS. — it was a poison pill.
I really liked that phone, but had to unload it. I couldn’t look at it anymore. Thanks .

I have had the iPhone 13, 15 and 15 Pro for 1 week now. Here are my findings.

Settings: auto brightness off, wpc off, nigh shift on all day and night, brightness manually adjust to my liking between 75% - 100% depending on the environment. promotion off on iPhone 15 pro.

I browsed reddit daily for hours and face time calls lasting over 2 hours daily so they were all used well daily.

iPhone 13 caused nausea over the course of 2 days
iPhone 15 caused burning eyes over the course of 2 days
iPhone 15 Pro caused nausea on day 1 and then completely fine on 2 and onward.

So my suggestion is the iPhone 15 Pro and see if symptoms subside in the next day or two.

Any updates ?

Still debating whether or not to keep my 15 Plus. It hasn't caused any headaches or eye pain but I've noticed my vision seems to be a blurrier than usual. Anyone else notice this?

Now it's happened, return period is over,
and the iPhone 15 Pro Max has remained. I'm so happy.
That would have been unimaginable with the iPhone 13/Pro/Max and iPhone 14/Pro/Max.
I had already given up hope since the iPhone 12 Pro, which was fine. But Apple heard me.
Now I'm super happy with my iPhone 15 Pro Max and have a current iPhone again.

Happy to hear that, but still baffling as essentially the iPhone 15 Pro/Max screens are identical to last years 14 Pro series, so that's incredibly interesting why it's not effecting you

I assume that it has different amplitude curves.
This year it is flatter and more even, which is less irritating to the eyes.

And you haven't made any concessions in the settings to compensate? Full autobrightness/120Hz ProMotion - No reduce white point, all factory default?

Right, I have not made any settings.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max runs with factory settings.

You truly got lucky there my friend - I might have missed some posts on this pervious, but is the Pro Max Panel essentially identical to the 15 Pro's or has there been a discovered variation between the two?

Exactly what it did to me from the first half hour. No issues with head pain. I had to extra focus in order my vision to clear. Return it mate :)

This!

I got the 15 Plus a few days ago. Spent one evening setting it up. Seemed fine. Spent a bit of time with it the best evening. Woke up with a bad headache the next day and it developed into a bad migraine.

Correlation or not. Uncertain.

Have used it a bit since. No issues.

But. I also have this sense, while using it, that it’s a bit blurrier. Or perhaps, shall we say, something seems different/weird/off while looking at the screen.

On the phone itself, it’s great!

Thanks for the reply. Returning it. I can do another year with my XR
