Just noticed my 17 Pro won't rest on my belkin wireless charger due to the large camera bump 😩

Seeing all the scratches in videos and images on the Pro models, I'm very tempted to return for a 17 to get a glass back. This might be my craziest choice because the 17 Pro appears to be working for me so far - so should I really swap it out. I always use my phone naked, I hate cases - but if the blue paint can scratch so easily, I will never feel comfortable owning this colour/finish.

Also what is going on this site and using Microsoft SwiftKey or Grammarly keyboard? The text I write is very light and obscured as there appears to be a white shade over the text box?

I know everyone’s priorities are different but man, if I found that I could use the 17 pro when the only other phone I’ve managed is the 11, I wouldn’t care a cent about scratches and dings and appearance.

I know your right - I get a little obsessive over these things and like to keep everything perfect to not trigger my OCD. My artistic, graphic designer eyes see the flaws before seeing the beauty sadly.

I received an iPhone 17 Pro yesterday. I had some weird glitches with the migration from my 16e so I ended up staring at the screen during a very long set up without the PWM switch enabled. So I definitely felt a little hit from that, but once I got things set up and turned the switch on, I took a nice long break.

Here it is tomorrow and so far so good?

Doesn't seem to bother me like some other phones, but I know from experience that some phones will get me in the first five minutes and others take a week.

So I will proceed with cautious optimism and report back.

Oh, and the settings I found most comfortable were the PWM switch enabled, reduce motion enabled, reduce transparency enabled, and limiting the screen to 60 Hz.

If I get on with this phone well, I will eventually try 120 Hz and see if that does me okay.
But so far the above settings are working.

P.S. Liquid Glass annoys me

Oh I completely understand lol I have my own set of ocd’s to manage. It was around a year ago that I mentioned in here about desiring the 48x ultra wide lens last year and he was like, “you have the 15 pm etc etc” essentially saying, appreciate what you are able to use and man….I was pissed at first being told a lesson at my age yet he was so right. Sadly it might come into play now because I’m not getting on with the 17 PM as well today as I did yesterday. Another fun year of this ish, eh? I truly do hope the 17 pro keeps working for you!!

Is there any difference in the displays of the 3 phones this time around?

Likewise, if I found a modern flagship phone that worked, given the screen lottery as well, I’d be firmly holding on to it, the odd scratch wouldn’t bother me. Would happily swap my current phone for a scratched 17pro I could use without issue 😂

When did you buy it? (SE) I want to buy one with 128GB/unlocked if still available.
I'm really glad you asked this question because it got me thinking...
I just purchased a refurbished 2022 SE today. I'll keep it on ios18 for as long as possible. Traded in my iphone 11 too. Dont like the 11

I am planning to try an iPhone this generation, maybe the setting will be better than any measurements could validate… really just deciding between iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air since there is a chance I’ll keep one.

There’s no way they finally put an Accessibility setting I requested eight generations ago, at least in name and description if not mainly spirit, and I’m not going to give it a fair chance along with detailed feedback.

17 Pro Max
Day 1 - seemingly fine. No issues to report.
Day 2 - mild overall headache, warm body flush feeling, slight but present nausea.
I haven’t missed these feelings one bit. I decided to enable the PWM toggle and it has made zero difference to me.

Did you know you are sensitive already? Why not just start with it disabled? You enabling now won’t be a good indicator until your symptoms dissipate…

I’ve been using the 15 Pro Max without issue and without any adjustments to settings. It’s the only OLED phone I’ve managed to use symptom free to date and I prefer not to adjust any settings if I don’t have to. So for me, I try each phone set to exactly how I’d prefer to use it so I can have a shot at achieving the best case scenario, and work backwards from there.
