I just don’t want to place another order and the phone ends up not working for me, I wish the screen models were labeled or something

Introducing the iPhone 17 Pro Ultra: we’ll let you pick the screen panel manufacturer for an extra $500!

I mean this is absolutely ridiculous but I would pay an upgrade fee like you do more RAM, SSD, or chipset if it meant you could get a flicker free screen. That way Apple wouldn’t have to alter their entire production line and could just have custom builds for people who need it.

Thanks! I just read that its a samsung panel and 2nd tier quality wise lol. I dont give a F about quality its pretty good now i can use the phone. Bought a 512gb one this time the other 256gb is on marketplace.
Do you still have your old iPhone (15p I think)? I tried the 15p one time and it was bad. If your had a good screen maybe I’ll buy yours :)

After returning my 17 Pro with the Samsung G9N display, I gave my eyes some time to recover before trying the standard 17, which had an LG GVC panel. Compared to the pink/red/yellow cast on the Samsung screen, the LG display looked much cleaner — it had a natural, warm, even OLED tone. However, I did notice a slight green shift in the lower half when tilting the screen toward me (not a viewing angle I’d normally use).

Overall, I much preferred the LG display and the feel of the standard 17, and I didn’t experience any immediate discomfort while using it. Unfortunately, the next day I woke up with an ocular migraine that lasted the entire day (the backs of my eyes felt pinched and throbbing).

So once again, it’s clear that OLED just isn’t for me. Moto G75 and TCL Nextpaper 60 Ultra have been ordered......

Maybe i am the only user in here that has tested LCD incells on oled iphones from so many manufactures......EK Pro, RJ, JK, EBR.... you name it.....no success.... i also tried recently a ZY incell LCD for iphone 16e..... funny thing was that it was worse even than the OG OLED of 16e..... huge pressure and pain in my eyes....

SO PWM is not the only factor of our issues..... i have found a tolerable solution. I use 16e outside home and when in home i use iphone 11 for social media.... its ok... i can live with that.

But my search is not over.... i ordered a soft oled replacement from mobile sentrix (so7) that some users have said that it has DC dimming and doesnt bother them at all. We shall see in couple of days!
Really interested in your experience with the so7!

I’m following a similar path — I replaced the screen on my 15 Pro Max with an EK Pro, and the result was negative. I’ve now received a JK screen but haven’t installed it yet. Judging by the fact that you didn’t stop at it, maybe it’s not even worth spending the money on the replacement.

Please share your first impressions of the so7 when you get them!

You can follow my example. iPhone 16e outdoors and iPhone 11 indoors. It’s going fine no issues. Tomorrow i ll try the soft oled from mobile sentrix.

I have tried all the screens from china. All manufacturers. Don’t waste your money too. None LCD incell worked.

It turns out that the issue is likely temporal dithering, as the screen pulsation measured with a Radex Lupin device on a phone with a replacement screen is less than 1%, similar to the 8 Plus, 11, and similar models.
Have you tried the settings called "double invert" on ledstrain.org with these screens? Some users have reported that this helped reduce the negative impact of temporal dithering.

Anyone using iPad mini 7 with success ? I am thinking to buy one for only home use and for outside use to have an 16e for quick glances that doesn’t bother me.
It's interesting that we're thinking along the same lines, as I'm currently considering buying an iPad Mini 7 and using it as my primary device, using my phone only for calls. I came across your post when I searched for "iPad Mini 7" in this thread.

I've researched various sources, and Notebookcheck's review states that the Mini 7 doesn't have PWM or DT, unlike the Mini 6, which had a high-frequency PWM. I tried the Mini 6 when it first came out and had to return it.

I have some hope for the Mini 7, but user opinions are mixed – some say it's excellent compared to the Mini 6, while others note that it's still impossible to use without negative effects.

Do you have any additional information or personal experience with the Mini 7?

Yeah. I have a debate what to do next. MBA or iPad mini for home usage. Maybe i ll go for that MBA M4….. i believe its with an LCD if i am not wrong.
I'm ok with MBA M3 13" with Stillcolor app enabled.
The experience is acceptable when used with the built-in display, and excellent when used with an external LG 27GN950-B monitor in 120Hz mode.

Before this I was forced to return MB Pro 16".

ALL iPhone OLED screens have similar light output as depicted from this opple lightmaster 4 measurement below.
This graphic is from the 16 Plus at 50% brightness.
There are no eyeballs or nervous systems in the ENTIRE UNIVERSE of 2 trillion galaxies and 320 sextillion planets that evolved to deal with this kind of strobotic source of light.
Nothing else in the UNIVERSE radiates a light source like this.
Leave it up to humans though to invent something so horrible.
The tech industry is pulling a fast one on the entire human race.
In my opinion, it doesn't matter if a person can use an iPhone for a bit without too much discomfort or any discomfort. These displays are irresponsible and borderline evil.

Yeap i am always at double invert even with iPhone 11. iOS 26 is bad for the eyes and made things worse.

I changed my mind on mini. Used one from a friend of mine. Resolution is crap…… icons and text very small and if you make them larger text lacks clarity….. it’s like viewing sand/pixels. Also very low brightness levels that makes things even worse. I am debating between an iPad Air m3 or a MBA M2….

So why do you consider an iPad if you even have MBA ?? :)

I'm ready to accept all of this; the important thing for me is the absence of PWM-like symptoms. How was it for you when you were using your friend's Mini 7?

MBA for work and tasks involving typing, an iPad Mini as a mobile device for easy carrying and use on the go, and for content and social media.
Overall, the iPhone 11 still works more or less normally, but sometimes I want a little more performance and a larger screen.

Me too with iPhone 11 at double invert.

By the way, few minutes ago I came across some interesting data on measuring an iPhone 16 with an Ek Pro screen. The results show quite strong modulation depth, which may explain our failure to replace the screen with the Ek Pro.

What's also interesting is that even on the iPhone 11, modulation depth increases as the brightness decreases. Therefore, I'll try disabling double invert and set reducing the white point to 91-93% to use the screen at 100% brightness.

And it’s interesting that the iPad Air M2 shows results similar to the iPhone 11, while the Mini 7 is slightly worse.
