It'd be nice if you could individually sync contacts rather than there being the all-or-nothing switch. As it stands, I'll probably back up my Address Book on my desktop, sync once, back up the synced copy, revert to my original backup, and import individual entries...bletch.

yea hewitt left the project when apple had so many restrictions and the app review process...

How does syncing work? Does it look for phone numbers that are the same than pulls email, photo.... what all does it sync from fb to the phone?

I got no sound when the notification for a new friend request just pop up. Nor are the badges acting right. Also, when I log out, all the contacts that were previously sync pictures out removed. When I log back in, I had to resync for them to come back

Such a shame the Push Notifications aren't working properly. How would we contact the developer so that they can sort it with a speedy minor update? It used to be so easy back when Joe Hewitt was doing it as we could just tweet him.

Hmm. Just tested it with a friend, and the push notifications service is instant, but there are no sounds or vibrations, just the alert bubble.
Also, the contact syncing isn't working too well at the moment(it keeps missing some contact images).

Looks like I won't be deleting SmartSync just yet then. :D

Why would people want all there facebook friends included in there iPhone contacts anyway? Most users have like 300-400(and some many more) so called 'friends'

What all does it sync? just photo?
It definately syncs photos and I guess, any other data, such as:
Email addresses,
Job Information,
Phone numbers
Birthdays,
And anything each contact has deemed as freely avaiable.

It also adds a Facebook profile link in each contact, which launches the app, not the the mobile site in Safari. :)

Ah right, but still I doubt many people would keep there mobile number on facebook, perhaps iam wrong
Lol. No. It sync it with the names of the contacts already in your iPhone contact list. It adds the picture and a facebook link to their iPhone contact profile.

I for one like that it adds info to people I already have in my contacts app. And I'm very glad it now pushes to the app. It's funny, I checked for app updates earlier and there were none. Nice.

You're wrong. =)

It also is syncing birthdays and their FB url as their homepage. Maybe other stuff, too.

The update also changed the "news feed" button to "live feed". It's not really a big deal, but live feed is a tad incorrect because you still have to click "load more posts" in the live feed to get new posts.

Well the photo sync isn't that good. I'm getting some very strange photos attached to some of my contacts, some of whom aren't even friends of mine on FB.

Not that impressed....

and the login on the chat is still bugging... what i mean by that is each time i exit the facebook application and open it back it logs me back on (online) the chat even know i logged off (offline) before exiting the application... anyone else have this problem?
