If someone links to a Youtube video it'll let you view that. At least it did in 3.0. I'd assume they carried that over to 3.1.

Yes I have people in my contacts which I haven't added on FB but has their FB link and some of which I have added are linked to a stranger's page to "add as friend".
I also have some people in my contacts which I have blocked on FB from being searched. I hope they aren't able to see my link if they have an iPhone and this app installed.
It seems the update is not working as slick as I expected.

On the photo comment bug: It's definitely there. When I look at the photos feed it'll tell me there are X comments and Y likes for a particular photo. When I tap on the picture the comment icon is grayed out. If there's more than one picture in the set you can go to an adjacent picture and then back. The comment icon will then give you a number (X+Y) and is an active button.

Exactly. It should have a 'Sync Now' button, so you know you're in control of when it syncs.What's the point! The damage from the Contact Sync has been done on my Contacts. So where can I find to turn the Contact Sync on??? Or is it a one time setting/sync?
I agree you should be able to control the sync activation if you want, but once it's done there's not much you can do.
I saw a blog post that stated that it affects only those contacts that have a matching name and phone number and doesn't affect contacts for whom you use a nickname. I don't know if that's entirely true, but I can say my results seemed erratic. I got facebook links for people I'm not friends with, contacts who now have photos of people I've never met and certainly aren't them, some definitely strange syncs.
I wish I'd waited on that part of the update. foolish me--early adopter.
The only contact abnormalities I have include emails not being added and some contacts not recieving photos from FB.
As for those wanting to downgrade, my only suggestion is, if you updated on your iPod phone/ touch, delete the facebook on your device, the hook up to iTunes and resync FB.

The update works great for me
I synced my contact pictures, which worked ok for most people, but most of the people in my contacts are saved under knicknames, which are, obviously, not recognised.
So when it didnt work for everyone, in the same facebook menu I selected the big red button that says something like, "delete data" or something, (in the syn contacts menu)
This restored my contacts to how they were previously.....
Push has worked so far too
One stupid question though.... what is a badge notification? lol

Only some of my photos were overwritten by facebook...although it was a majority. I went into my contacts, and hit edit photo, and the previous photo that I had selected was there. So I reset a lot of them manually. Pain in the arse.
I'm not getting any sounds or badges. Just the screen alert. Does anyone have all 3 working?
The Push Notifications are definitely broken. There isnt a sound (or vibration) when you get a notification, and also it only displays a pop-up (even though I have badges turned on). Not having badges stinks, those pop-ups can get lost if I get multiple Push Notifications from other apps.

Because in 3.1, I selected "No" to Sync Contacts but it did anyway. Which to me is a huge oversight.
For me this update is pretty much a bust. I'm glad for the effort, but nothing works as it should. It is good to see them working on it though. Hopefully version 3.1.2 will be right around the corner.

Exit Facebook and go to Settings. Scroll down to Notifications and you can turn them off for Facebook.
I have sound and badge on and I'm not getting either sound or badge notification. I just have a pop up message.
