I keep getting this window that pops up whenever I try to update to macOS Sequoia. I am currently on macOS 14.6.1. I'm on an M1 MacBook Pro. It's driving me nuts because I never had problems updating macOS before.

I was able to update to macOS 14 from 13, and then from 14 all the way to 14.6.1 without any problems. But can't update to Sequoia without getting that error message. I might have to manually install it via the USB stick method.

Yup, exactly the same issue we're facing as well. I'm downloading the installer file manually and will create a bootable USB stick to update my macOS.

Okay I tried downloading the full installer.pkg file and I still get the same error when installing. Not sure what the problem is.

I'm having the same issue too. Internet is good, my desktop and laptop are good. So, does not know what's going on.

Same. Rebooted and tried again, same "Failed to Personalize the software update" error. I'm OK with sticking with what works for now, to be honest.

I agree, but even the Sonoma 14.7 update doesn't work. It seems an issue with Apple not our computers.

Okay, just tried booting off my USB drive and installing Sequoia gave me the same error. Sigh. Nothing works. Seriously Apple, fix your ****!

All screenshots say you don't have an internet connection. Check your internet connection. Go up to the wireless fan icon in the upper right corner and make sure you are connected to a router.

I'm connected, it works on my laptop now, but it doesn't on my iMac

I would try turning off wifi, turning it back on and try updating again. If that doesn't work, I would shut down then start up in safe mode. Then try updating.

This.

I did exactly this about 45 minutes ago and the update appears to be working now (I hope; not yet finished).

So, I turned off my Wi-Fi.
Then turned it back on.
Then shut my Mac down.
Switched it back on.
Tried the update again and it appears to be working.

Can confirm that the update worked and I am now running Sequoia.

Update isn't working for me, I have internet connection, because I'm able to surf internet without any problems. I'm not sure what the issue is.

To be honest I have a brand new MacBook Air M3 and it didn’t work at all. I tried the WiFi, I tried the restart, DFU, I tried restoring my OS which brought an other error which leaded to a Mac OS system data file worth of 15Gb of trash in my disk and I took 20 minutes to figure out how to delete it…
I also can’t update to Sonoma 14.7
Apple just wanted to launch there OS early and they sucked that’s all

That's horrible to hear! Apple really needs to address this issue for those of us with this specific issue.

I just fixed it. I chat with Apple for about 15 mins. They gave me this link: macappstores://apps.apple.com/app/macos-sequoia/id6596773750?mt=12

Update: It doesn't work out. Please don't use it.
