Referring to how they were perceived relatively at their respective launches - otherwise my favourite is just the latest model, in my case the 11 Pro - I’d say I was most excited by the X, closely followed by the 4.

However I’d say the least exciting models were the XS, closely followed by the 4S... it’s obviously difficult to come up with great followups!

I loved the step up in size with the 6+, but never fell in love with the design. Still think the antenna lines and prominent, non-integrated camera bump on the 6 and 6s make it the ugliest iPhone ever made.

iPhone 4 was most revolutionary to me. There was nothing else that came close on the market. Even the iPhone 5... giant screen Android phones were becoming a thing so the iPhone 5 was very good in some ways but lagging behind in others (screen size). Since the iPhone 4 I think Android has competed more equally in terms of hardware. But really that just says that Android sucked extra bad back in the day...

For me it’s the 11 Pro

I loved the X as well, but the 11 Pro is just right. Amazing cameras, amazing display, fantastic build quality, great size and true all day battery with fast charging

I like how it feels in the hand. Curved so nothing is poking your palms like the 4/5 boxy design and that frosted glass makes it feel really nice to hold, and oils don’t build up over time and get gunky like they did with the 8/X/R/S

plus the back is impressively resistant to scratches. Still looks immaculate since I bought it and I put it down on every surface. My X back had many micro abrasions at this point in its life cycle

Interesting I’ve seen a couple mention the 11pro now. It’s funny, to me it’s been the worst design yet. That frosted glass I just can’t get over it. Looks like a drink coaster my grandma had in the 80s haha. Again that’s just to me, I know it’s a very popular device. That plus the weird bug eye cameras I can’t do it

I love my 'gold' 8+ quite a bit. The solid state home button feels great. The large LCD display with a rotatable home screen, 16:9 aspect ratio, and True Tone is very nice. Wireless charging can be fun to use. I also love the beautiful design. The white bezels give it a classy look which is somewhat reminiscent of the original iPod. Though marketed as gold, the back looks like a shade of white to me (either cream or champagne). It's got a very interesting and pretty look and with the Apple and 'iPhone' logos and nothing else it's neither overdesigned nor underdesigned. The dual lens camera is functionally and aesthetically nice (yes I prefer horizontal over vertical camera designs). Lastly, I like how the back antenna bands have all but disappeared and the aluminum ones (left and right sides) are more camouflaging and not a solid white.

The SE and 4S are my second and third favorites. Yes, I also like smaller phones. They fit comfortably in my hand and pocket and typing on them isn't too difficult for me even being accustomed to the much larger display of the 8+. The designs of both the SE and 4S are beautiful too. Regarding the SE it's like the perfected version of the 5/5s design. No more FCC CE logos on the back and with a rose gold variant.

The jet black iPhone 7 I think will always be my favorite. I’ve got a XS Max now and it’s amazing, but I still pick up my old 7 and mess around with it. It was like a shiny black pebble. When the screen came on it illuminated from within from invisible lines

yes! the rose gold iphone 7 plus will always be my favorite esp since its the last true rose gold iphone apple released. i even went back to it just today after my gold iphone 8 plus got damaged

iPhone 4. When that thing came out it totally revolutionized smartphone design and sent all competitors scrambling to catch up. I remember them being backordered for months all the way up to Christmas due to the crazy demand at the time.

I love the Iphone Pro Max 512GB version for the simple reason of "Feed the Machine" and the Apple Upgrade Program, GRRRR

Anyone saying anything “plus” is stupid. The plus was dead on arrival, dated, ugly and unwieldy.

Clearly the ones that stand out are the original, 4, 5 and X. Although my personal favourites are the 5C and the XR, especially in coral

iPhone 4 , i had a 5 that was good too , on an 8 plus now which I hate , particularly the abysmal battery life , wish I’d gone for the x

The battery life on the 8+ I believe is better than the X despite being pretty much the same phone. Have you contacted Apple btw as battery life is usually very good on the 8+ and I can say that from my own experience.

I would have to say my XS Max is my favorite Apple device. I love the big screen, gold color, and the notch doesn’t bother me. The screen colors are vibrant and beautiful. The screen size is perfect but I would love a 6.7 inch size version which hopefully debut this year so I can upgrade. The battery life isn’t the same as when I brought it a year ago, but I carry a battery pack around for extra battery life when I need it. The weight isn’t an issue even with a case on which I use 24/7.

I (including family) have had iPhone 5, 5s, SE, 6, 6s, 7, Xs and of these, although I am OK, with my Xs, my favourite is the 7. It is a nice size, good weight and once I’ve subdued Siri, background refresh and push stuff, I get more than 2 days battery life. For sure the Xs screen size is better and the camera is very good, not that I notice much difference, and I eventually got used to Face ID, but the 7 is just a better experience for me.

(Xr, 11, 11Pro are either too big or not enough of an upgrade for me to move from the Xs and I’ve been known to revert to the 7 every so often)

Yeah there was just something about that device! The best refinement of the 6 design. The capacitive home button etc I know the 8 refined it even more but it always felt lost in the X reveal. Just a cheaper option they threw out at people. Like I said I love my Max but it’s just a nice phone, whereas I pick up my 7 still and it’s got that magic I don’t know what

XR, my current phone. Too large for easy carry, but the size is great for mobile utility, the battery is excellent, Face ID works perfectly, rugged. This phone doesn't get between me and work/social/recreation.

4s was, by a landslide, my favourite iphone. and that was even with its weird, sickly green screen tint.

3g was my first smartphone, so it holds a special place even if overall i don't think it was a particularly great release.

my current 7 is a nice, refined device. no real complaints, just feels incremental. i'll probably miss it whenever i have to upgrade next, as they seem to just keep getting bigger and chunkier, even though my ideal size is still the 4s.

iphone 6 was the my least favourite. it came at the height of apple releasing what felt like clunky unoptimized software and out of the box seemed underpowered for its larger screen. it wasn't even a form factor that i was particularly clamouring for, and the design felt unrefined.

as a final disappointment, the 6's battery died quite abruptly which ultimately forced me to replace it with an iphone 7 only a couple months before the X/8 announcements. and of course shortly thereafter apple owned up to battery complaints and offered cheap battery replacements, which left me feeling sour as i likely would have opted to pay $30 to keep the phone going at least until the next hardware refresh vs the $80 they wanted at the time.

I loved the 4. It was just such a great little compact phone. I don’t know that I could go back to it (my eyes are just too pathetic now, and I’m clumsy with the keyboard when texting), but I absolutely loved that phone.

I also loved my 8+, and have been super pleased with the XR/11 because I get that overall screen size in a slightly smaller (albeit a little thicker) device.

The 4 is such a great phone at its time. Design in classic and I believe helped push iPhone design.

SE. Afterward nothing until the 11 Pro struck me as being exceptionally well-designed.
