Has anyone actually gotten the badge? I had 32 minutes of exercise before noon today, and the badge has still not activated...
Yup. Did my long run this morning. Don’t know what time this turned up though.

I have 69 minutes of exercise today, but the challenge still shows as incomplete. Guess I need to do 30 minutes in a single exercise session?

I got mine yesterday as well.

Be patience, it should show eventually.

You shouldn't have to, I got mine by doing two 20 minute walks.

I should make my monthly challenge - 570 exercise minutes for the month... I have less than 100 to go... got the Unity badge and the Heart month challenge badge...
My monthly challenge was to close my move ring 27 times. I started the month by serving on a jury. Then I got the flu and wasn't moving much. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Last for me for February. I won't make the monthly challenge, and it's actually already disappeared from the app.

Yeah, I missed one days exercise ring, and there goes the whole month. Oh well...

AND!!! I just got the 'Heart Month Challenge' badge. Weird... Did it have to go to the judges? Did they view the instant replay? *shrug*

I keep trying to tell myself 'Don't ride the numbers', and 'You aren't doing this for the badges/kudos/ride ons', but they sure help... I keep joking about being a lab rat. I guess it's not that far from the truth. :D:cool:

It has to be reviewed since there was an accusation of substance use in your workout. Fortunately you (and we) are exempt because we use the Apple Watch. :D:eek:

Note: Not implying you use drugs (less you are o_O), this is a reference to the brouhaha over the 15 year old Russian Olympic figure skater that got caught up with a failed drug test.

[Edit - "use use" -> "you use"]

I share the addiction. I am drinking some even as I make this post.

Speaking of 'drugs', back when I was on the dumpster fire commonly known as Facebook, I was in a group that 'discussed' indoor trainer riding, and people were avidly discussing caffeine and other substances that people used either before or during a ride.

Caffeine, in many forms, was common, as well as sugars and even salsa. A surprising number used spicy peppers, which did NOT work for me. (And pickle juice use was massive at the time. You CAN overdo the salts)

But one id10t self identified that he drank alcohol to ride indoors. He claimed that he 'couldn't ride indoors without being drunk'. I'm still stunned, thinking there is someone out there who could really figure out a way to crash a stationary smart trainer/bike combination. YIKES! And since I found out that exercising while 'under the influence' can cause heart rate irregularities, and even possible fatal heart events. I thought maybe caffeine would be up there in causing exercise induced heart irregularities, but apparently not, which surprised me. I find carbonated beverages a bad idea, YMMV.

DRINK* UP YEA HARDIES!!!

* Caffeine and electrolytes only.

I was a late convert to the burned black bean juice. My dad was a lifer in the army, and coffee was always a smell that I woke up to, but never imbibed. Well, not until I got older and had a job that started at 7AM. I took a gulp of the magic juice every morning, and occasionally for lunch. The wife though, she has a 'altar' to the juice. I am not allowed to touch it, being somewhere below a low level primate in the ways of the caffeine. I think what banned me was trying to 'make' coffee one morning, and apparently I hit the wrong button, or didn't say the right magic incantation:oops:. The 'exile' has lasted ~15 years so far. I deal...

Anyway, Cheers!!!

Coffee IS religion to many people.:D (Give me an skinny almond milk vanilla latte and I'm happy?‍♂️)

I cannot stomach what my wife calls "fru-fru" drinks - double soy lattes with caramel and whipped cream, etc. My java is black and strong... anything else may as well be dishwater. I am, however, connected to my coffee maker intravenously... my wife, on the other hand, does not drink the stuff... but would probably snort it if she could... she loves the smell but hates the taste. Thankfully, she has other redeeming qualities.

And, well, we are far off topic, but this is a worthwhile discussion, nonetheless.

Well, 'fru-fru'? I draw the line at anything fruit flavored in coffee. Starbucks 'dragon' mixed fruit/coffee 'thing' makes me gag too. And I love the smell of coffee, always have. Like I said, childhood smells.

I LOVE the smell of just having ground coffee out and whiffs of it floating around. The stronger the better. Planes use coffee packs for 'odor control'. The 'strong stuff' eats my insides, and likely yours too, over time. I have to have it 'softer' or I'm down. Reflux, acid burn, not fun in any way at all. But I have been known to take a chug out of an 'iced coffee' jug before a ride. Coffee's laxative effect, and also diuretic effect is kind of welcome. It does irritate the urethra which is part of the diuretic effect for some people. *shrug*

I'm just grateful we don't fight over coffee here. I know my place. (I did win points for suggesting she just hang a drip of 2 litres of coffee)

ON SUBJECT!

How many people think that we should get credit for 'massive days', and be able to wave an under performing day like I had earlier this month. Yesterday, I was 600% over my move goal. Last week I was over 800% over. Shouldn't I get a waver for the day I missed my exercise minutes? I mean, it's not like I'm a habitual underachiever*. I do my part...

well, you do get credits for "overachieving" in the form of a badge for 200/300/400% of your move goal, but, AW and the algorithms used are not for "slackers" (;)), you got to do your part EVERY day, be that good for your body or not, EVERY day, Apple has no mercy for anything else.
We've discussed this many times in these monthly threads and nothing really has changed since AW was released.

The best advice I still have: do NOT let the algorithm drive you, set your own goals and be honest to yourself when you look in the mirror.
And for those who prefer letting the AW/algorithm drive you: all the power to you.

And off topic: 1 triple shot of espresso in the morning, after workout, and I can tolerate a Macchiato and maybe Cappuchino, but anything else, no thank you.

This. I pretty much can’t pay attention to the algorithm anymore. If I did I’d probably end up dead. I’m already doing a ton of intense workouts. Way more than the majority of people.
