Leaving Alaska...

My package that was "stuck" in Shanghai since the 22nd has now left Anchorage as of this morning... guess I won't see my MBP this weekend. :(

Alright - we have an update.

I'm "In Transit" as of 7:14AM this morning in Alaska.

I was hoping that the package would show up at my door today - oh well.

I assume these packages will fly to Indy tonight? Do the connection flights that leave Indy at 2-4AM occur on Saturday mornings, or only during the week?

If these packages leave on a flight from Indy to our cities early Saturday morning we may be able to pick them up from Fedex on Saturday.

Any thoughts?

Hey at least you are getting SOME movement. My MBP (also "shipped" on the 22nd) still shows it's in Shanghai:mad:

nothing since then.

Mine finally moved, it took 2 days to get from shanghai to alaska? hmmm.

anyway, when is says arrived in anchorage, and then in transit. What do they mean by "in transit". theres no way they could land and take off in 4 minutes, i think in transit means getting unloaded from one plane and put onto another? am i right/wrong? someone shed some light on this.

Mine updated as well, hopefully it arrives in St. Louis by tomorrow morning so I can call Apple for a pickup authorization.

As for your story about just picking up your package harvey, I believe you got lucky and got a stupid front desk person at FedEx who simply overlooked the rules. Called FedEx again, and now they state that if I call Apple Solutions and talk to them, they should be able to authorize a release. Called Apple, and talked to a Solutions guy who spoke with a supervisor, and they COULD do it tomorrow once it arrives in Missouri. Other than that, normally, there is NO WAY they would release it. So, I'm thinking along the lines of the other poster in that it's all who you get on the phone with at Apple Support. If you get one that won't, just keep trying! Hope for arrival at the STL facility by tomorrow, if not, it could be a longggggggg weekend.

It means it left Anchorage on a plane. Most likely, it got scanned for arrival later than when it ACTUALLY arrived and was already properly sorted. Then not long after, it probably got scanned again and got on its way to Indy.

Usually it means your package is on a plane toward it's destination. That said, as I noted earlier, mine has been "in transit" for 3 days (Shanghai time) so who knows what "in transit" is supposed to mean in regards to MBP shipments. Certainly it doesn't take 3 days for a plane to get to Anchorage anymore than FedEx could unload it to another plane in 4 minutes.

Well, it is on Truck for delivery now. The updated Tracker shows that it was on a Truck as of an hour ago. I am still excited. Bad thing is I have to take a shower for work and stuff. Afraid to be caught in there when they come

Mine arrived at my door at 9:30 AM

Yes, Chupa, however, it says in transit down on the location bar and the top bar, not just the top status bar like earlier.

I have the same shipping times as you. I just called FedEx. They said it has not yet left Alaska and won't arrive at the local Chicago sorting facility from Alaska until late Sunday night or early Monday morning. :(

Crap, NOW they told me the same, that it HASN'T cleared customs in Alaska! Looks like we'll be waiting for a Monday/Tuesday delivery :( . Have a good weekend guys

Well looks like my MBP finally made it to AK. I'm thinking IF it can get on a plane to Indy tonight I'll get it Monday. Otherwise it will sit in AK for the weekend, judging from how last weeks 2.0s were treated, which means Tuesday delivery, as scheduled. So, I guess it's all over now but the waiting. This is one of the few times I hate the weekend :(

chupa chupa, it looks like our macbook pros are in the same shipment. i'm also crossing my fingers for a monday delivery. :)

Cool, it'll have some company. I just checked Flight Tracker. It looks like there is one last flight from ANC to IND today around 3 AK time (about 1.5 hours from now). Time to pray I guess.

Newbie here, though I've been reading the site for awhile...

My 1.83 is in Anchorage right now, but it says Int'l Shipment Release as of 12:26 PM.

What does this mean? Any chance of it coming tomorrow or is Monday more likely?

Monday, it should be there. But then again this is international shipping that we are talking about. It could be monday or next monday. If it has cleared customs then it should be great. By the way, loving ever second of the MBP here. Never liked a purchase as much as this one before. Except the engagement ring.

Mine had the 12:26PM international shipment release too, now its showing that it departed anchorage at 1:51PM.

Mine departed at 3:49 PM from Anchorage. Hopefully means I'll see it at LEAST in Indy tomorrow morning and at St. Louis facility ready for delivery by Monday!

Mine had International Shipping Release from Indianapolis at 2:34 AM local time. Hopefully it's on the next plane to LAX (in about an hour) and I may get it Saturday morning (today, technically).

I live in CA, so maybe mine doesnt go to indy?
when do you think ill be getting mine?

Well looks like everyones MBP that shipped last Wed/Thurs has made it through customs in Indy and is on to their final dest :) I just looked mine up and I according to the Flight Tracker widget it should be here just about now.

Naturally I got on the horn to FedEx to see if Apple gave me a delivery waiver if I could pick it up. Unfortunately, the Bone Yard shift at FedEx is Bone Headed too because the rep told me that my package was still in flight. I told her, yes, in-flight to my hometown, but she'd have none of that so I'll have to wait for it to be properly scanned with arrival first. That said, I'm doubtful I'll be able to pick it up :( because I think FedEx just leaves Sat deliveries at the airport dist center until Sun evening when it's transported to the station. Hope I'm wrong. That is just going to kill me knowing its so close, yet so, so far away.

If anyone has any luck picking theirs up this weekend please post here and who you spoke with to get both Apple and FedEx to let you have what is yours.

Left Indy this morning...

It appears that my MBP (left Shanghai 22nd) and my brother's (left Shanghai the 23rd) both left Indy this morning at 6:32am. Looks like Monday it is! :D Hope everyone else is having the same luck or better!

Have a good weekend.

Mine says it's still in indy, as of 9:12 AM CST. It arrived there at 1:28 AM. Plus, mine was already cleared for Int'l Shipment Release in Anchorage, not Indy. Does it have to clear there as well? Let me know!
