a better place
I could not be happier with these accessories for my 6P. I like a minimalist thin setup;

- intelliGLASS HD Max Coverage screen protector
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0197TU662/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

- Nillkin Nature TPU Case [Transparent Thin Soft]
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018JYIRY4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The screen protector went on so perfect and smooth, just clean the phone really well beforehand with the wet towel included, and wipe it down, and then just place the protector on the top, and slowly lay it down, squeezing from the top pushing towards the middle and bottom, and it was done, no bubbles, and it looks like it was designed from Huawei as a perfect fit, nearly invisible.

The case is super razor thin, fitting like a glove, with some nice extra grip. Yeah it won't help form a big drop, but it adds a nice layer of all around minimal protection, and much needed better grip.
The Nillkin nature case are great. I had one for the 6P and hVe one now on my HTC10. They protect from basic scratches but allow you to still enjoy your device without hurting ergonomics & adding bulk. You'd barely know they were there and much easier to apply and remove than a skin.

Always been tempted by the nexus

Updates being good is positive and a good selling point for me. Wonder if they bring wireless charging this year

They expected to keep the same screen size?

The 6P is a good phone, but I ditched mine because of the black's pain peeling issues. If I go back to a Nexus, I have to wait to see what the Note 6, iPhone 7+ offer. As of now, I am pleasantly surprised with the Nexus 2016 (M1) leaked specs with 4GB of RAM. Processor doesn't matter as much to me since the Nexus has zero stutters. The TW skin on the S7 Edge has a few hiccups from time to time. I think the Nexus is bridging the gap between iOS, Touchwiz, and Android for me. I still think that the iOS 10 update is huge, so I might just sell my S7 Edge and go cheap Nexus 5X successor when the pricing is good.

Looks nice.... those letters are a real PITA, but when you get them right, they stick and look great.

I took mine off recently that I had on there since Oct. It held up great, no bubbles or peeling at all. I was just ready for some naked time. The phone does feel super nice in its birthday suit.

Pics of my newly applied Dbrands skin, sorry for poor photo skills, and I'm not the best at these skins, only my second one I've ever applied to a phone before; White matte skin with colored X logo

Tempered protector;

Winning. Beautifully done. The color X in the Nexus logo = A+

And congrats on graduating? Looks like a graduation cap you have there... ;)

I know I'm kinda in the wrong forum for this, but I just thought I'd share my experience with the 6P. I bought it 2 Fridays ago and returned it this morning.

I love android and customizing my phones. In fact, while I was waiting for my phone to arrive, I wrote a script to automate rooting, decrypting, installing twrp, and transferring a folder full of ROM zips I wanted to test out. I loved the screen of the nexus so much. That amoled display, while not exactly accurate with my settings, really made colors pop and look vibrant. However, battery life was pretty bad compared to my iPhone 6S plus. And apps would reload much more than on my iPhone (and I did do a comparison between the two with the same apps, iOS kept more in the background loaded). I do miss the colorful look of material design and the ease of now on tap, but iOS is working fine for me meets my needs. I'll probably buy the next nexus to satisfy my addiction to messing around with phones and software (spending hours editing that mixer paths file to get the exact perfect volume output for my aux cord for example) and then return it also when I start missing iOS again. Idk I guess android just doesn't suit me very well despite how much fun I have using it.

As for case use, my phone is always uncovered. I don't think I've ever used a case for more than a week.

How many of you run naked on your smartphones, no case ?

Always!!!!! I hate cases and covers, bleh. On my metal phones I put on a Skinomi clear matte skin so it's not truly naked, but appears and feels to be 99% naked. On my glass phones I put nothing on them, never had a scratch or blemish on one. No screen protector at all, I think they take away from the feel of the screen and I've never had any scratches or issues with modern screens. The only risk is a drop, but hey that's what insurance is for and I try to be very careful with my phone.

Tried a new ROM, old fav developer = Chroma, just installed it yesterday, with Franko kernel. Also have have two really kick ass Layers on this that are perfect IMO;

Dark Stock Theme - Layers
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bitsykolayers.piereligio.dst

Navigate - Layers Theme
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rc.navigate&hl=en

Dark Layers is what I really wanted, just the stock AOSP style, but inverted, and still keeping the nice colorful material design intact. And Navigate allows some really cool nav bar keys, some really different stuff.

I had multiple different dbrand skins for the first few months of ownership. I eventually got tired of the skins (matte white and bamboo) and ripped them off and ran the 6P without a case for a good couple of months. I've got large hands so I've never had issues with it being too slippery. I however recently purchased and installed a SlickWraps Naked skin (clear) and am enjoying that. Don't want to hide the gorgeous aluminum anymore.

Chroma is a great rom. I Zephik is a great dev and his Roms ate always minimal and efficient. I personally prefer Midnight layers theme because then you get the amoled full black look which I really nice at night.

I'm not sure why they downgraded features with the 6p versus the 6. The 6p also has no OIS.

And now the HTC Marlin Nexus won't have the true dual speakers anymore, they going the route of the HTC 10 with bottom firing speaker and subwoofer.

Sucks seems cool new features get added one year, and then a generation or two later those features are removed.

I just want this in a Nexus phone;

- HTC quality and design
- 5.5" screen size is the perfect size IMO
- Dual front facing speakers
- Flagship current hardware spec's
- Big battery, of at least 3,500mAh
- Waterproof and Dustproof
- Wireless charging
- AMOLED screen on par and same tech as the latest Samsung phones

Seems like the upcoming HTC Nexus should tick most of those boxes, but not all.

Given that the FP scanner will be on the back, I am expecting it won't have much in common with the HTC 10. I don't expect it to have HTC DAC and Boomsound, or subwoofer. It would be great to be pleasantly surprised though.

And given your wishes, you basically just want a Samsung minus Touchwiz and dual speakers. Hello $800 price tag. No thanks.

I am very pumped for the HTC Marlin, seems to be almost everything I want, but at the price of supposedly $499, they can't do EVERYTHING on my wish list. The big features missing on the Marlin will most likely be no waterproofing, and not the latest and greatest AMOLED display, but all the rest sounds to be on the Marlin.

Yeah I don't think Samsung will ever give up their latest and greatest display to Google.

You really think it will have wireless charging? Going back to a plastic or glass phone with HTC. I don't think so.

Last year everyone was creaming in their pants that the Nexus 6P had the Note 5's display, but I never found that to be entirely true, even though people were saying it was the same panel from the Note 5. So saying that, it is possible they get the Note 7 screen tech in Marlin ? But I doubt it, if anything we'll get the true exact Note 5 display on Marlin, which would be fine by me, I had both the Note 5 and now the 6P, and the Note 5's screen clearly is better.

Sure, Samsung clearly gave their lower binned screens to Google. They save the center of the AMOLED wafer for their own phones. Nice way to clear out the inventory and make a few bucks.

I like the front facing speakers, but they take up way too much space and make the phone much larger than it has to be. I'm waiting for the technology to put the speakers behind the glass, that will be awesome. So my vote is for a bottom firing speaker, and slim those bezels down and make the phone smaller. Although I'm curious why they couldn't make the speakers fire from the top and bottom instead of on the face? Seems like a solution which would satisfy everyone and allow the phone to be smaller.

I agree about the wireless charging, but also the AMOLED screen isn't as good as the Note 5's screen. This is readily apparent having them next to each other. The brightness sensor on the 6p is also junk, had to install a 3rd party app for the auto brightness to work halfway decently.
