I've actually had much better luck with the two finger swiping by keeping my fingers spread fairly far apart. The mouse has trouble reading the two finger swipe if my fingers are near-touching, but if they're a ways apart it seems to pick it up about 85% of the time.

Flick scrolling is brilliant, and tracking is great with MouseZoom. Contour could be better, but it certainly doesn't bother me. I don't game, so it's a pretty decent mouse for me.

I hated the mighty mouse. I love the magic mouse. Feels great to me and getting rid of that stupid nub was a major improvement.

You don't have to rest your entire hand on it, just your fingers. I find it very comfortable. Then again I did use laptop mouses for years..

I stand by my day one name for this thing, Tragic Mouse.

Another Apple mouse which resides in the shipping box after the first day till I sell the machine

holy good googly!! they actually have one! i have been searching far and long for one my white book. i could kiss you :D

Don't blow your load quite yet. It only supports two-finger gestures and it's a surprisingly poor product, even though it's Wacom. It's really not like the Apple trackpad, which I think is the best trackpad I've ever used.

I was excited about the Bamboo Touch, too, then I used it.

If you expected it to be an ergonomically mouse you're dumb. Anyone with half a brain can see that's not how it's meant to be used.

Its whole top surface is a touch surface so if you hug it with the palm of your hand, how the heck are you supposed to have access to it's touch capabilities with your palm in the way?

When used correctly; the Magic Mouse is awesome!

i do not like the magic mouse either, with the battery it is heavy tough to move cursor across the real estate, i even went with lithium light batteries still painful to the wrist.

wired magic mouse might be a hit

I actually like the magic mouse and also still use the mighty mouse on my MBP. I find, as you, keeping the fingers apart (about 1 inch) works best when swiping. I rarely have encountered a problem. Keeping the hands clean is also a good idea. For those who miss the extra functionality of other mice one can always use the hot corners. That works best for me. I tend to use my fingers to control the mouse movements and do not rest my hand on it. One reason for doing that is you CANNOT be ergonomically correct with the 27" screen and the keyboard/mouse. If your eyes are level with the top edge of the screen then the keyboard/mouse is too low and you can't keep your arms parallel unless you have a really really long neck:). The only other solution I can think of is to have a platform which raises the keyboard/mouse to the level of the bottom of the screen. Anyone ever seen a desk/table that is higher in front of you and lower in the back?

You also only have to move like a cm, and you can do most of the work with 1 finger. Move the first finger 1 cm and the other just a few mm, it will work regardless.

Thank god for straws, right? If not for those little plastic tubes, how would we ever manage to lift 12 whole ounces of soda (not to mention the added weight of the aluminum can) to our gluttonous lips?!?

not trying to be funny, i work 12 hours everyday on the PC, Mac at home and work. for me Mouse is the important and i want my way, OK

it is the wrist which pains not the hand. again i said wired magic mouse might be hit. personally i do not like the wireless mouses at all.

it is not funny to compare a computer input device movement with lifting a soda can, go figure :(

Do you rest the palm of your hand on the magic mouse? Try controlling the mouse with just your pinky, thumb, and ring finger. The other two fingers are for clicking the button. The wrist and rear end of your palm should rest on the desk.

Resting your whole palm on the mouse will probably give your hand problems.

p.s. I spend all day on my computer as well.

I agree with this as well. I also moved the tray my keyboard and mouse sit on one notch lower and its been a night and day difference.

I also agree with another person who mentioned the BetterTouchTool. That has made the Magic Mouse worth having. Ive even thought about getting another one for my MBP.

I do think that some of the gestures that come stock on the magic mouse are unusable. I still cant get two finger right to work, but 2 finger left works well for me. But the BetterTouchTool changes those gestures to something usable. For example, I was able to assign two finger swipe up to activate Expose.

thanks, thats what i am doing.

but lowering the keyboard and mouse might help, right now it is on the same desk as the iMac.

Apple hasn't made a decent mouse for more than a decade.

buy a new mouse. the magic mouse is nice and i like it, but i use more my logitech mx revolution. that's a perfect mouse:)

magic mouse sweet

The magic mouse is like a moveable notebook touch pad, and i like like that a LOT! :D

I have a Logitech MX1100 that I use with my Acer netbook when it is connected to my HDTV, and i prefer the magic mouse.

I'm also really enjoying the wireless keyboard. The combo of the Magic Mouse and Wireless keyboard is an awesome upgrade IMHO :D
