Also, as a daily wear, go to work with a shirt or suit on watch? No - subjectively speaking... just no. If it was supposed to be used in such situations then of course it should/would have come in other finishes than aluminium.

I would not hesitate to wear it with a suit, but then again I have a Marvin the Martian watch I have worn with a suit as well. Some people say "Cool" others "Ugh." I prefer to work with the former.

Hey OP, if you wanna argue that the Ultra is a monster workout watch, I’m right there with you. That’s why I bought one. But…a picture is worth a thousand words. Here is my Ultra and my Series 7 stainless steel side by side.

Is that a Juuk band on the Ultra or 7? If so, what do you think of them?

Picked mine up yesterday.

I agree with everyone here...

After wearing every single Apple Watch released (all stainless steel), this is the first watch that feels like a real watch should.

And I am very surprised to be saying that. I was very worried that the Ultra would be too large on my small wrists but it actually looks fine -- like a watch should look on one's wrist.

Additionally, the one strap I swore I would not buy was the Ocean. However, over the past few days, after reading a considerable amount of positive comments about the strap, I decided to pick it over the Alpine. Best choice I could have made. The ocean band is very comfortable and not nearly as chunky as the product photos suggest.

Yes, it’s a Juuk Vitero Silver/Ruby. I was a little disappointed with how it turned out on the Ultra for 2 reasons though.

1. The Ultra seems to have a gold hue to it which doesn’t really match the cool silver of the Juuk.
2. The orange button clashes with the ruby stripe on the Vitero.

Thanks. Did you like the quality?

Can’t wait to order one in the upcoming months. I love the size and look. I got to check one out in person and love it. I’m also 6’4” and a big guy and the 45mm 7 just seems small to me. The Ultra feels and looks amazing on my big wrists.
I am also 6'4" with 7.5 in (190mm) wrist and Ultra is the perfect size. Now, I would not complain if they release 53mm next year but 49mm is finally normal size for me where it doesn't look ridiculous on my wrist like 45mm AW does.

As an old lady with a bad hip, I'm never going to do anything more than walk around the block, but I ordered it yesterday. I want the additional battery life and screen size. If it's Just Too Big, I'll return it, and get the S8.

Fingers crossed! 🤞

You will love it. I was afraid it would be too large. It's the perfect size and battery life?...10.5 hours and I went from 98% to 85%. That's amazing.

hence the word subjective

Of course, which is why I lead with "I would not..." In then end, most things come down to personal preference and thus are subjective.

Watch size has changed over teh years. I have several 40 -60's vintage watches that are quite small by today's standards. Even later vintages such as my Connie are dwarfed by my Seamaster. Yet all have a place on my wrist; depending on how I feel and what I will be doing. YMMV.

Apple seems to slowly be following the trend to larger watches.

I wouldn’t bother the screen size is actually smaller because of the rounded corners

Got see one in the flesh this weekend. And to be fair I thought it would be slightly bigger than I expected…but I still want one, but I guess I will stick to my Nike series 5 until I win the lottery.

Thank you Apple. Finally we have a normal-no-kid-sized-toy Apple Watch. It is stunningly beautiful. Pictures don’t do it justice. It is screaming premium product. Just a first amazing and fresh product after so many years from Apple.

May be a normal looking Watch finally but what’s with that cheap ugly orange band? Looks silly.

I saw it in person today and was surprised.
it’s not as chunky and imposing as the pictures suggest.
looks ok on the wrist.

its better value than the stainless steel ones I’ve bought I’m the past however I just can’t get over the fact it’s main use cases are just things I’ll never ever use.
plus I prefer the smaller bezels of the standard watch and for curved screen edges make it softer and in my opinion more attractive.
