I really wish people would say, "Still broken...FOR ME"

Worked fine for me on earlier betas and still works now. That leads me to believe it is not a widespread issue considering I'm not the only one in this thread saying it is fine.
I believe people are free to say as they want. Not trying to be a dick, but if this isn’t affecting you, why are you commenting on this post? This post is for people who are being affected by it and I think it’s good to put that out there so others are informed before they do try out this beta.
I’ve never had a problem like this before on any iOS beta’s, and it’s not the end of the world, but it’s important for people to know, where it’s widespread or not. Just because it isn’t affecting you, doesn’t make it less important of an issue. Chill.

Also, I don’t see where comments like: works for me, not happening to me, help in a conversation about something being broken. It’s just a waste of typing to a thread post.

Yup still no fix with the new beta build.

Next time I will be installing betas on a separate Apple ID.
I always use a different ID, and I totally forgot this time. Like you said, I’ll never let this happen again.

I’m almost tempted to move everything I have to the newest beta and see if it helps universally, but I’ll probably just screw things up worse.

Keep us posted and I’ll do the same.

I tried moving my other devices to ios15 and Monterey. Didn’t fix the issue. Find my is still unavailable.

You’re smarter than me. Never even thought of the idea of using another Apple ID prior to this. I usually test app compatibility for my company, and in the past never had issues using a dedicated device for this.

Working fine here iOS 15 PB 12 pro max.
Most people seem to have no problems. I installed it on my wife’s iPad and phone and she is able to use “find my” just fine. The bug doesn’t happen to everyone. But if it does it will ruin your day since it basically disables “Find my” for ALL your devices, even those you did not install the beta.

I really wish people would say still working for me, since that’s so productive for a beta release… Obviously it’s not for everyone 🤦‍♂️

I have an older iPad on 14.7 beta 4. It does not fix the issue.
Yeah I told them that and they then made an appointment at Apple for me to bring in my iPhone and have them restore it back to 14.6. I cancelled the appointment since the Find My is the only issue I’m having. I will wait it out. Hoping they will give you a different answer.

Now that the public beta is out, we should see more people with the issue, and hopefully Apple fixes it sooner rather than later.
Maybe that will be the case. I was also thinking of deactivating my Apple ID account and then reactivating it, in the hope that it would somehow reset it and fix the problem. Unfortunately the deactivation process also might close my Apple Card and I can’t take the risk.

Yeah, not worth it.

Find my iPhone is working now. The way the issue resolved was very weird. I decided to take a leap of faith and requested an account de-activation. It is supposed to be temporary and reversible but can take a few days to actually take effect. About 30 minutes after I made the request the "Find my" started working again. I cant say if that was because of the de-activation request or not. But after it started working I contacted apple to cancel the de-activation request and now all is well. Please check your devices and see if it is working for you now. Perhaps apple fixed something in the back-end and it is just coincidence that it happened around the time I requested the re-activation. Best of luck

Thank you, going to give it a try

Edit: sent in the request….have my code to re activate my account. Since they are close now I’m hoping it gets de activate in the morning

edit 2: the Find my app now works. thank you so much

I was hoping apple fixed the bug in their back end and my experience was just a coincidence. But since you went ahead and requested the de-activation i guess that’s not the case.

Make sure you don’t lose that code. For me it was fairly quick. About 30 minutes after I requested the de-activation I got a notification that I left my keys at my office. I immediately knew something changed and sure enough, I was able to see my other devices and family members in the app.

To cancel the de-activation request I started a web chat with customer service. Overall it was pretty painless. But be aware that if the account is actually de-activated it might deactivate your Apple Card if you have one. so be careful and please keep us informed.

I wonder if the web chat is open. The call center is closed. I’m so happy my HomeKit camera now works.

so nice it works again. But I didn’t leave my AirPods at the dentist….lol

i was told I had to wait until my account is deactivated before I can submit my re activation

The rep was misinformed. Even apple’s email mentions how you can cancel the de-activation at any time. You don’t need to wait. I would try another rep. Perhaps call tomorrow in the early morning. Thank you for taking the risk. It confirms that it works although I am not comfortable with the process due to the possibility something might go wrong (Apple card cancellation, losing the code and losing all data, etc)
