I'm single, 20 and living on my own. I want one but to be quite honest I would be the dumbass that shoots himself. I've never used one, nor do I know how to handle one. I'd be too scared to touch it.

Here's a few of my m24/47 I picked up a few months ago. Rifiling and throat looked brand new, still has the capture screws even. Just from the 15 rounds or so I put through, she shoots much better than my shot out m44.

I've got an application for a C&R license, I need to send it end but then I'll be an even more broke college kid. VZ24 and K31 are at the top of the list.

Is that M24/47 from Mitchell's Mausers? I have an M48A I bought from them about 6 years ago. The rifles they sell are very attractive and look unfired. The downside is that Mitchell's advertising is pretty misleading; they try very hard to sell the rifles as if they are K98k rifles, when they are in fact considerably different in their details. Many of the new-looking Mitchell's rifles are actually relatively newly-built rifles, though I believe they use original parts stocks and are of course built in the same factory they always have been. My M48A is in essentially new condition and is a very attractive rifle. I bought a Samco-imported M24/47 about 5 years ago; it looks pretty well used but is still in excellent condition and I've put about 500 rounds of surplus 8mm though it. A very solid gun and a great example of the Mauser 98 design.

You should certainly get a K31 - I love mine, the accuracy is extremely good for a surplus, as-issued military rifle that is (in my case) 71 years old. Make sure you stock up on the GP11 surplus 7.5mm ammo while you're at it.

I've toyed with the idea of getting a C&R license for years, but I'm already running out of room to store my collection and the license would just encourage more purchasing! That and keeping the bound book is just that much more work.

Is that M24/47 from Mitchell's Mausers?

I bought it from a guy locally that was getting rid of it and a SKS because his wife claimed he had too many.
He said they both came from Cabellas if I remember correctly, and that he'd only had them for about 6 months.

I've heard nothing but good about the k31's, and they're such a unique design.
The Czechs seem to have a history with producing fine firearms, and the Vz 24 appears to be one of the better mausers, that are commonly available anyway. Plus I already have the Cz 82, which I wouldn't mind having another

C&R arms just really appeal to me because of what you get for the price as well as the history. Being able to take a $1-200 piece and be able to match a commercial offering. Granted, you have to have realistic expectations when dealing with a 50,60,70+ year old firearm that has likely seen its better days.
I haven't got my application in yet, probably for the best or I'd be a poor-er college kid.

Sounds to me like you should either leave them well alone or get thyself to a shooting range!

In the UK guns are banned, and the the bad boys who decide to carry them are not long for this world.

I think most people collect guns just for fun, however, can also be used for self-defense if necessary. This is the case for me anyway. I carry a gun for self defense, not paranoia, but relying on self-responsibility for my own defense and not a third party to protect me.

My glock 22 that I had for 10 plus years. Only problems i had were one misfire and a broken trigger pin. Trigger pin broke on me in the middle of a IDPA match. Did not know it broke until after the match. Replaced pin and no problems. I've used it for NRA Instructor courses, IDPA/IPSC/GSSF matches and a Larry Vickers class. I've always used factory loads

The knife is a Zero Tolerance 0350ST which I purchased new on eBay for $95. Its a great knife, and I carry it everyday.

I know this is strange coming from a guy who carries semiautos, but those hammerless revolvers intrigue yet worry me. No issues?

I have never been what I would call a "revolver guy", always preferring semi-autos. That M&P 340 is my only revolver, and I love it. It is by far my favorite backup/off-duty weapon to carry. At 13oz it is extremely light, and pleasant to carry. It's surprisingly accurate for what it is, and can accommodate .38Spl & .357Mag. What is there to worry about? Not having an external safety? Neither does the M&P 40 I carry. Both are carried daily, shot weekly, and have functioned flawlessly.

Just about bought a Yugo capture k98 yesterday. The add was posted last week and he lowered the price. No phone number listed, but I had googled the address so I looked it up. By the time I got ahold of them they said someone was on the way to pick it up.

Guess I'll just have to get my C&R form sent in.

That is a pretty darn slick Hi Power.
A 1911 and a Hi Power are on my list of pistols to own. I'm trying to get my hands on all the C&R guns on my list first though since they're not exactly making any more of them.

Na not homie clips just high capacity magazines. But if it pisses a socialist or a commie off makes me happy.

Just a note.

The 33 rounders work better if you take the +2 base plate and locking insert off and put a regular base plate and locking plate on them. Then Load with 30 rounds instead of 31. Makes seating a loaded mag easier with a closed slide round in the chamber.
Then take your +2 base plate and locking insert and put them on a 15 or 17 round mag as long as you use the next size up of spring. If you put +2's on a 17 round 9mm mag you should use a 11 coil spring. In a 15 round mag use the mag spring out of a 17 round mag (10 Coil).
Also when you buy New or used mags make sure you get the mags with the little cut out on the front of the mag that as the metal liner exposed. Thats there for a future Glock Product
