My 14" 16/40 shipped yesterday and it's awaiting a plane in Shanghai. I expect it will be on the flight 5X81 leaving 9pm tomorrow. If you sign up for UPS MyChoice you can see tracking before Apple sends it.
UPS is saying tomorrow (Wednesday, Nov 8) but Apple is still saying this Friday. Historically, Apple has always been spot on for me with Mac shipments and UPS has always over promised. I'll assume Apple is right and if UPS comes through, then I'll be pleasantly surprised. FWIW, I'm in Canada on Eastern time.

Can't wait... Black Pro 14"... 1TB

* Side note I had a 13" MBA that I tried to trade in earlier this year on a 15 MBA.. Apple rejected it "dented" which is complete BS, it was NOT dented and I had pics when I packed it. Anyhow.. took it to the Apple Store over the weekend and collected $790.. not bad. Moral: Return to store, never ship trade ins

Anecdote time. Similar experience trying to trade in my 11 Pro Max. Perfect condition, they continually rejected it via mail-in saying it can’t be activated. They sent me a picture of the phone with no cell signal, full wifi bars, and a message saying “activation could not be completed over cellular, would you like to try wifi?”

Yeah, EXTREMELY frustrating. I asked “what happens if they just hit the try wifi button?” No idea, they can’t talk to the repair center and the repair center can’t talk to them and there is no escalation process. If they reject it for any reason, no matter how stupid, that’s it and you have no recourse.

Finally got a senior advisor after weeks of this to just push through the credit (after they had lost track of the phone so they couldn’t send it back to me…)

Several advisors said exactly what you said. Never mail it in. Take it to the store, they’ll glance at it, and they will take it and that will be the end of it.

You’re just lucky it’s UPS and not FedEx. Recently sent in my 13 Pro for express device replacement. FedEx destroyed the package. Luckily Apple has seen this many times before and simply closed the case as completed after talking to FedEx.

They also seem to wait in the bushes outside my house for me to leave, then when I’m maximum distance away run up to the door to attempt delivery.

For what it's worth, all of the good 3rd-party resellers will offer a better price for old phones and MacBooks than Apple will.

So it seems the M3 Pro really isn't worth it for longevity? My upgrade is going to be massive regardless (iMac 27" i5) and any new M series is going to be incredibly fast.

I want to see some M3 Pro and M3 Max comparisons.

I just been to the store and felt in love with the black space colour. Though when I arrived it was full of fingerprints. I cleaned it and the finger prints took some time to be made.
I always had silver, but in the Apple stores bright light it as reflecting too much and as I want to use it sometimes outside, I prefer a darker colour. Space grey could also be an option, but the black is so beautiful. Different shades in different angles. From distance it’s black and close up it’s dark grey.

That’s not my experience. It can vary quite a bit. I’m trading my 2018 13” MacBook Pro i5 and Apple gave the highest offer of about 6 sites I checked.

Depends quite a bit on the model in my experience. I’ve had third party resellers do great offers compared to Apple, but often not.

My 14" MBP MAX was marked for delivery Nov 15-17, but shipped last Friday and is now marked for delivery today Nov 7.
Are you seeing it shipped via Apple order tracking or directly through a shipper notification like UPS?

I’m very ready to never see my Touch Bar again. Looked cool in concept but in practice, it forced you to stare at it for basic things like brightness to press the button and then you had to look at the screen to see if it was working because there was no haptic to confirm you pressed it right. It made you slow down and look away from your screen for stuff that used to be tactile shortcut functions.

Not to mention, it was so dynamic you often couldn’t rely on certain uses of it to remain in place where you’d remember.

Worst of all, it was poorly supported by the product lineup overall so devs never had a reason to dive into it long term. Apple didn’t commit to it on enough products.

Mine says Nov 10 as well. I would check UPS MyChoice and see if yours had already shipped.

Edit: UPS now says Nov 9.
Mine changed to 9th for delivery as well for the modified
16" Space Black, M3 Max, 16‑core CPU, 40‑core GPU, 16‑core Neural Engine
128GB unified memory & 2TB SSD
Way earlier than projected to Silicon Valley, California area.

Has anyone received a shipping notification for any configuration from B&H Photo yet? All configurations on their website still say "Preorder" as if they actually have none in stock. My order for M3 Max/16/40 with 64Gb/4Tb, which was placed on 11/1, just shows "backordered" with no estimated shipping date.

This has the same problem as the FineWoven case, except in that case it was Nilay Patel tempting people and not Apple themselves.

Apple says "this resists fingerprints" so every Apple enthusiast in a 100 mile radius immediately drives to their nearest Apple Store, stops by their favorite hamburger joint on the way, then puts their paws all over it.

Probably just the lighting, but that looks just like my current space gray to me.
