Hi guys, I also read a lot of comments about Flolab glasses for iPhone 16 Pro. Too bad because for many features they are the best on the market, but this edge issue has changed the game a bit. I think the third-party manufacturers need a few months to review it.

Flolab responded to me like this, “Our glass screen protector for the iPhone 16 Pro features the smallest bezel on the market, providing maximum screen coverage with rounded edges for a seamless fit. With Anti-Reflective and PolarSpectra technology, you get the best in clarity and protection. Precise alignment is key to avoiding any interference with the screen or camera functions. While it can be a bit tricky, when aligned perfectly, it’s unbeatable!”.

But it is clear that they are not telling the truth, I have clearly seen in photos and videos that it even eats portions of the screen in camera control animations.
Right now I think the best alternatives are Belkin or possibly Dbrand.
The camera control has created quite a few problems, even on the Cases at the moment. I think it is best handled with the original Apple cover.

The "best" right now until those that make black-border protectors fix them, are full clear protectors like Belkin's Ultra Glass and Zagg's XTR4. But those full clear ones also may have problems like rainbows along the edges.

I hated the Flolab last year for the 15 Pro Max. It was a huge Fingerprint Magnet. Way more than everything else. Can anyone compare who had the 15 and the 16 Version?

I have had both and didn’t have any such issues on my 15 PM, it was great on my phone no issues with fingerprints or fit issues, etc. That is mainly why I went with the same protector on my 16 PM and though I’m having issues with the fit (only keeping it on my phone until I find a better alternative) I don’t have any issues with fingerprints or smudges.

Which Flolab so you have? I just got the one this: https://flolab.io/collections/iphon...ology-reinforced-edges?variant=44553872474263

I can’t see all the L’s in the camera app.

This is the same one I have on my 16 PM and I have the same issues not seeing the ‘L’ in the camera app, but this is the same version of the screen protector I had on my 15 PM without any issue in the camera app. I’m not sure if the OneTime Pro version of the protector is better or not, but yeah I’m having the same issues as you with the Max version. I’m probably going to try either the Belkin Ultraglass 2 or The DBrand Prism 2.0 both of which are screen protectors without the black borders to see if those are better.

So I reached out to FloLabs letting them know about my experience and issue with the screen protectors this time around and this is what they responded with:

Hey there!

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. With the iPhone 16 lineup’s thinner bezels and curved edges, precise alignment has become more challenging. However, our screen protector has the thinnest bezel and rounded edges, and it should cover the screen perfectly as long as it’s aligned correctly.

We’re also excited to let you know that we’ve been working on a solution and will be launching a new 4D Hot Bend Glass screen protector soon. It’s designed specifically for the iPhone 16 series to ensure an even better fit without compromising the screen view.

Thank you for your patience, and if you have any other questions or would like to be notified when the new version is available, feel free to let us know!

So apparently there will be a new screen protector to fix the alignment issues at some point.

That's great news, but what is offered to customers who bought their currently available versions with thicker borders according to the 'misleading' informations provided?

Literally nothing, sadly, which makes me not super eager to buy the new version once it’s available since I wasted money on the first one.

I sent them an email asking if they’d warranty out my screen protector for a revised one that fits correctly. Awaiting a response

Wow that’s a very disappointing customer service from Flolab! Was expecting more…

I have sent them an email but still no answer yet…

Ahh that would be a nice option if they allow it!

Yeah it is, basically they are just saying if you have an issue with the borders covering a tiny portion of your screen it’s due to user error not a flawed product. I wasn’t really expecting anything, I just wanted to make them aware of the issue.

Between cases needing to figure out a capacitive capture button and screen protectors needing to get the sizing right, I guess accessories manufactures are hoping for a lot of double dips. Between that and Apple releasing and advertising their new phones with a main feature set that isn't even there.... As the consumer these are bad practices.

I got a response from Flolab:

Thank you for reaching out and for being such a loyal FLOLAB customer! We understand your concern with the current screen protector, especially with the recent changes Apple made to the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Our Plans:

We’re excited to share that we’re already working on a new version of our screen protector with slimmer borders to better fit the iPhone 16 Pro / Pro Max’s updated design. This version will have smaller bezels to ensure no part of your screen is covered.

Additionally, we’re developing a hot bending curved glass version, which will feature a larger glass area for even better edge-to-edge coverage and protection.

Your Options:

  1. Updated Screen Protector: We can prioritize sending you the new version as soon as it’s released in mid October. All you cover is SH.
  2. Hot Bending Curved Glass: If you’re interested, we can reserve one for you once it becomes available.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we continue to improve our products. If you have any other questions or preferences, please feel free to let us know.

We’re here to ensure you’re completely satisfied!

Thanks again for being part of the FLOLAB family.

Got the same answer but without mention of the shipping cost.
I have asked them about the main advantage of the hot bending version and when it's expected to be released.

Please find Flolab’s response about the upcoming hot bending curved glass:

Technology:
Hot bending is a different process from CNC (Computer Numerical Control) and focuses more on the curvature of the glass. This makes it more durable and a better fit for curved screens, but without the anti-reflective or anti-rainbow coatings.

Size:
The Hot Bending Curved Glass is edge-to-edge and larger than the current glass we offer, providing more coverage, including the screen and new camera cutouts, while still having black borders.

Availability:
While we don’t have a confirmed release date, we expect it to be available in early November. We’ll make sure to announce it as soon as it's ready.”

What leads you to believe their revised screen protectors won't be offered in the anti-reflective version?
