I think the whole idea of a folding smartphone is a hideous abomination against nature that would make any god-fearing and righteous soul shudder and reflexively touch the old spectacles-testicles-wallet-and-watch.

I think rollable phones make more sense. They maintain the same thickness no matter if they are opened or closed. This means that we can have a phone that is better proportioned when it is closed like the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

I’m interested, but Apple will have to find a way on how to bend a glass screen without creases for me to buy one. As it is right now, Its a hard no from me. I rather just carry a large screen then to deal with all that.

With rumors' currently hinting at two possible foldable iPhones in development, I'm curious as to MR posters preference. A z flip style one, or a galaxy fold tablet style one. Personally, I can see the benefits of both; a z flip style iPhone with a 6.7 inch display which is easily pocketable. Or a more ambitious tablet style foldable. I'd be happy with either, but I feel like I lean towards the z flip style device; at least until they can get the aspect ratio perfect for a tablet style foldable.
I definitely prefer the Z Fold type of foldable, it reminds me of the awesome Nokia E90 which was amazing to use:

I like the idea of normal phone in the front and “business” inside.

I know that we are still in the infancy of Foldables but I look forward to something like the Z Fold 3 with a proper front display (in terms of width) while also rocking the camera prowess of the 13 Pro Max or Pixel 6 and a large 5000mAh battery.
It’s good to see a different form factor making it to mainstream.

I will buy a foldable when they have sorted out the above and also the fragility of their screens.

I’ll take an all glass iphone with virtual buttons on the side and a dual screen one on back the other in front( this has been talked about recently)
This was Jony Ives dream that never came to fruition but now it may be coming

Two screens and virtual buttons sounds too complicated and too thick to be Jonny’s dream.

I bought a Z flip 3 in August. I loved the compactness and the neato/retro factor, but folding screens just aren't quite there yet. They're good, but not durable enough for every day use. I baby my phones but the screen on my first unit started lifting up around the hinge area and making a popping sound after a week. My second unit worked great for a month, then the top inch of the screen stopped registering touch. Both broke with no drops or rough treatment at all. I don't think I'll go back to foldables any time soon, they're very cool but they're still way too fragile to be practical. I'd definitely buy something like an LG Lotus style iPhone with a full keyboard on the bottom half, I highly doubt it'll never happen though.

Don’t care for foldable phones. Don’t want it. Don’t need it. Knowing apple they’ll release one and we will go bananas for one and love it though. Remember apple always late to the party but they do things better.

Hate them.

When I want to get info off my phone I don’t want to waste a moment unfolding it. It should be there at a glance, the full experience.
