Wrong. It has a rectangular shape and a flat piece of glass on the front. Only Apple can have these on a phone. Oh yeah, and if it has a camera with a flash, Apple patented that too. (well stole it from Kodak and then bankrupted them) and if there is a flash, it can't emit any white light. Apple has a patent on the color white and photons.

Oh really? Do they also have the sales number as Sammy's GS line? Yeah didn't think so. Apple's going after Sammy because they are a threat. Plain and simple. It's not about the garbage morality story that all the blind follower just love to eat up. Why else are they trying to get a phone like the GS3 banned? It looks nothing like an iPhone. As a whole Samsung outsells Apple in the smartphone market, but flagship to flagship the iPhone is still the winner. And Apple isn't pursuing the GS3, only the GS2 and previous models, which were decidedly infringing on it's design patents. Now, as I presume you aren't an IP lawyer and neither am I, we are both unqualified to talk about whether the verdict was fair. I personally think that Samsung clearly copied too much of Apple's design, as did the jurors of the case. Samsung themselves even explicitly acknowledged a desire to copy Apple.

But I draw a line with your last statement. To say that Apple doesn't innovate is just a load of mindless crap. They are easily one of the most innovative tech companies in the world, far more creative than any Android OEM. Hell, even Android itself would look/function completely different had the iPhone never been invented.

Actually Apple already tried to ban the GS3. But the courts said it was too late. So now, it wouldn't take Sherlock to imagine they would try again, now that the case is done. Unfortunately the wording in some of those design patents really does seem pretty vague.

While Apple is trying to sue everyone in sight to slow down potential competitors, I think the SIII complaint was listed on the basis of utility patents. I'm not sure if they tried to file trade dress claims there.

Basically around the time Jobs started really getting sick. I don't think a lot of people appreciate how much detail and time Steve put into projects. A lot of Apple's innovative ideas came from him. Now Apple just seems to be coasting along and living on past accolades, which is one of the main reasons I am pissed at Apple. The other for being sue happy hypocrites .
Maybe their idea of ipassbook or whatever they are calling their equivalent of Google Wallet will change the landscape? Apple better have an NFC chip in this new iPhone or they are seriously missing a huge opportunity.

Show me a mainstream smartphone that had over 300 ppi. It's not all a marketing gimmick, there's definitely some truthfulness in it. If not, why do almost all new smartphones exceed tha number, surely it must be more expensive to manufacture those displays, no?
