I like reading other people's excitement when they get a new Mac.

I hate drama queen titles that lead to pointless threads.

I agree with OP. No other topic do you get to post a duplicate thread for without having someone ask you to search the forum first. It's repetitive and annoying. Look around, there are a couple hundred of these threads.

So that I'm not just complaining, I propose a solution. How about a consolidated "Yea! I got a new MBP!" thread (it could be a sticky) or a "I got a new Mac" forum? Then people would have a place to post that stuff, those who want to read it could, and those who didn't could more easily skip them.

Well, if the # of threads is a sufficient reason to have a sticky, then we need lots of stickies, starting with a sticky thread for complaints about other threads.

This seems reasonable. Everyone wins.

While I can agree with the OP, I have to admit the OMG I just got my MBP!! threads add closure to the Should I Buy Now or Wait?? threads. It lets me know how people are doing.

I just want everybody to be happy.

Bleh, half agree, they do become annoying, but I don't read them. Simple as that.

There is plenty other things that irritate me too - like Gordon Brown, but I ain't gonna make a topic about that.

Shut up and deal with it.

My pet hate would have to be poorly titled threads I'm forced to open, like this one.

For The Love Of God Please Stop

I'll second that emotion. I hate vague, inane thread titles like...

Don't You Hate When...

or

For The Love Of God Please Stop

At least I just got a new Macbook Pro!!! gives you an idea of what to expect from the thread.

BTW, I really don't mind those posts. It's nice to see people post something positive about anything!
