Yeah I am upgrading. I'm thrilled the iPhone 11 got the ultra wide angle lens rather than a zoom. Going to the museum and getting an entire dinosaur skeleton into the frame will be possible now, lol!

So far I'm pretty set on the green iphone 11. I haven't yet come across any information that makes me feel compelled to get a Pro. I've been pretty happy with my Xr so I think the iPhone 11 will be an enjoyable upgrade.

Awesome... call me crazy but I liked the yellow and am going with it! Yeah every video I've seen has said the 11 is the much better value this year over the Pro! Getting mine for like $170 after trade!

Enjoy your upgrade too!

11 Pro Max, but changing my desire for Silver to making a practical choice of the Space Gray - and you know why? Just because I think the rear cameras only look good when surrounded by the black paint. *sigh*

I wish Apple would have kept the camera area as black, regardless of what color the phone back would be.

I agree 100%. I was going to go silver but after watching all of the hands-on videos, I feel the square on the white looks the worst of all and that is disappointing. The decision not to match the camera square to the back of the phones is confusing to me. On the Pro models, you have a matte finish on the back but a gloss finish on the camera square so even though they are 'technically' color matched, they don't look the same. In my personal opinion, that is what really draws attention to the square even more-so than the 3 lenses.

On the iPhone 11 models they did the opposite and made the camera square a matte finish when the rest of the back is glossy glass.

Just tried out both the XS Max and XS at the Apple store and I really didn’t like the Max, way too big for my hands to be practical. Told the rep at the store, that the only reason I would buy it is for the bigger battery size. He told me the effective runtime wouldn’t make a difference for the new models, since the bigger display eats up the battery gap.

I kind of have my doubts about that, what do you guys think? Id definitely go with the smaller size, but battery matters a lot to me.

Same here - love the yellow 11 - it's a unique Apple color that is a bit muted not so loud....

Makes it easy to differentiate from my other iPhone XS I carry all day - boring space gray....

I just found out that T Mobile is offering half off the 11 if you trade in an iPhone 7 which I just happen to have.
Can't believe they would do that even for existing customers!

They would’ve mentioned landscape mode Face ID support.

Glaring omission imo. The iPad Pro has it...why not the iPhone Pro?....

What you're saying makes some sense, but for myself I very often pick up an iPad in landscape mode and start to use it that way, but I don't remember ever doing that with my phone, even with TouchID or before TouchID - so I'm not sure how useful that would be for me. Other people may have different use habits, though.

Well since you’re talking about the Max and Xs Max, from what I’ve seen, the Max has very respectable battery life. I’ve heard complaints about the XS battery life. When I had a regular X I was frustrated at how fast it drained.

But the newer models may turn things around because they really boosted the battery on the smaller phone.

I badly want a Pro Max but the ridiculous weight of my partner's Xr puts me off. That phone is heavy as a brick.:mad:

Therefore I am leaning towards to the Pro. However I might regret it because on a phone plan the Max is barely more expensive.

Decisions, decisions, decisions
I went Max last year and what I don't like is the weight and size in pockets, especially when I wear shorts. However, when I look at that AMAZING screen, not to mention the battery life, there's no way I'd ever go back to a smaller size. I'll be going Pro Max this year. Can't wait.

Fair enough.

For me, lying in bed/couch when watching YouTube etc. & being distracted long enough for the phone to sleep &, when the phone's on a table with me being slightly at an angle, I'd find landscape unlocks handy as it would prevent the need to alter the grip or pick up the phone.

Absolutely! I really hope that when they say multi angle Face ID they mean we can get that full rotation of the home screen and apps like on the plus phones that still had Touch ID.

Hmm did they actually say “multi” angle, or was it “improved” angle?

The key is in the wording I think. :D
