My partners iPad pro has shut down everytime it's been on charge overnight.

I can confirm his iPad was set up as fresh and not from an iCloud back up.

Model is a 128gb wifi only from uk

Have him/her update to 9.2 beta 3. I wouldn't be surprised if this fixes it.

I've had my pro freeze the first time I fully charged it. The 2nd time it was not frozen but it requesting my pin due to restarting. So apparently it randomly restarted sometime while charging. Kind of odd.

I have only done one over night charge. My pro freezed had todo hard reset, 128 gig wifi on iCloud back up. Gonna charge again tonight see what happens.

i hear that if you do a iCloud backup restore that what causes it.i have no problems with mine.i did not use a iCloud backup restore.i just hooked it up to my mac mini and did as a new iPad .

so did i. i set mine up as brand new ipad. still have problems

Mine freezes after charging all night also - since day 1. It is reassuring to know it isn't just mine.

I had this issue for several days. I tried an iTunes Restore which didn't help.

I installed iOS 9.2 beta 3 and the problem seems to be resolved now :)

I've had mine a week now. The first night i charged it as it needed it out of the box. Froze by morning.

But then left the charger more or less in ever since and not had a single freeze in more than 6 days.

I am now tied. 3 days had to hard start, 3 days was fine. We are at 2 days in a row of fine.

I didn't have a problem charging to 100 but never left it to charge overnight. Until last night and this morning had to do a restart to get my iPad turned on. WTF.

Happened this am. Had IPP one week. First time charged over night. Froze. Black screen. Would not hard restart. Took to store. They couldn't hard restart either so agreed to get me new gold 128gb LTE ASAP.

Then I found this thread and recognized symptoms. Tried hard restart again at home and it came on! At 93% battery strength.

Updated to IOS 9.2 beta 4, so we will see....

I wonder if there are multiple versions of the same ipad, and due to differences in hardware some are having issues.

The software would be the same.

My first 2 chargers were issue free. On 10 hours usage with 45% battery left so will be a little while before I recharge again

Had it since last Wed, and this morning finally had the issue. Not once before though charging every night.

At least twice I have left my iPad pro plugged in, once over night, and once during work. When I returned to my iPad it appeared frozen. Black screen, screen will not wake. I had to do a hard reset twice to get the thing to work again. After the hard reset the battery was 100%.

Has anyone else seen this?

This is now a widespread problem even being commented about in several magazines and Pro reviews: http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/ipad-pros-locks-up

Mine froze for the first time this morning - it's the 4th day of overnight charging. Not sure what was the difference about last night but it just wouldn't turn on unless I force reboot it by pressing both the power and home button for a few seconds.

I restored via iTunes encrypted backup. Not iCloud.

When I did the hard reset to start mine, I only had 80% battery, so I guess that is when mine shut down, any have a similar experience? Hoping this is fixed in 9.2.
