Strangest thing happened this morning! I have a MVC flashed GTX 780. I installed Sierra 10.12.3 yesterday and of course the Web Driver 367.15.10.25f01 wouldn't run. Started up this morning and bingo, I could choose it. I did, and restarted and it appears to be running. The Nvidia System Preference Panel says it running, BUT the Cuda Panel says the Apple Driver 355.10.05.15f03 is running. Very Strange

GTX 780 is a Kepler GPU and probably supported (to some extent) by the Apple drivers? It might not be fully functional, but there's probably enough support to boot to the desktop (unlike the GTX 980 for example).

^^^^Yes, I'm aware of that. I have the GK110A chip. AFAIK, these are much less common than the "B" version. It's the reason that I'm keeping this card because yes, it does play well with the Apple Driver.

Nvidia Web driver 367.15.10.35f01 for macOS 10.12.3 now available over the Nvidia control panel. Do the update.

I do not remember having the CUDA driver delayed from the Web Driver in the past, but I'm running into the same thing. Probably will be available late tonight or tomorrow.

This is a little off topic, but relevant non the less.. Ive got a cMP 1.1 running Yosemite 10.5.5. and I'd like to run my gtx285 from my old cMP 3.1 (it's a flashed PC card) in it. With vanilla Yosemite 10.10.0 or 10.10.5 there is zero picture, Ive downloaded the NVIDIA web driver, but can't install it as it keeps saying it's not for this OS. I've forced installed it with pacifist, and it does install its control panel, but no picture, and unable to load the control panel.

Anyone able to think what I should try next?

Each build of OS X has a specific version of the Nvidia web drivers associated to it. These can not be mix and matched.

Also, as far as I can remember, the GTX 285 worked with Apple's built-in drivers.

Hey guys! Opinion time: I know Asgorath strongly favors EVGA for GPUS; it's the reason I put an EVGA 650ti in about 3 years ago. What's the reliability/performance of MSI? Good, bad neutral?

So I downloaded that driver and it installed, but when I rebooted, the NVIDIA control panel gave me the error "this version of NVIDIA Web driver is not compatible with the installed version of OS X" I tried to find that web driver on NVIDIA's site and could find ...15f06 I could only find 15f05.

That "error" message is about the CUDA driver for Mac, not the NVIDIA Web Driver. As noted in an earlier thread, I do not recall there being a delay with CUDA driver update release after the Web Driver release. If it's not posted by tomorrow, then it would be worth reaching out to NVIDIA support for sure.

The updated CUDA driver installers are generally posted here:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/mac-driver-archive.html

The latest AVAILABLE version is CUDA 8.0.57 driver for MAC, which was released 12/15/2016 (for the 10.12.2 update, I believe).

Download and install CUDA 7.5.29, works with newest Nvidia driver for 10.11.6:

The error I am getting is not for the CUDA Driver (though I am getting that error too). This is the issue I am having.

I got it to work!!!!! I booted into the recovery console, and clicked on install OS X. that rolled back my OS X to 10.11.6 and then reinstalled the security update (to bring me to build 15G1217) and then installed the NVIDIA Web Driver 346.03.15f06. After I installed that I put my graphics card back into my mac and started up and it worked!!

^^^^You're right it isn't. A couple of sites I visit have the link. I found it there and brought it over here to share. It works and the Cuda Preference Pane shows Cuda as being up to date.

FYI - the CUDA 8.0.63 update is now showing on the NVIDIA download page and through the CUDA preferences for anyone that was waiting

Okay, it now it happened agan with macOS 10.12.3 – been like this since Sierra 10.12.1 I think.

Am I the only one who occasionally won't get any video when waking from sleep? I'm on a Mac Pro (Mid 2010) with a PC BIOS NVIDIA GTX 970. The display just stays dark, but I can still SSH into and do the ”top” command which shows that a lot of things are running. I can't however use Apple Remote Desktop.app nor Screen Sharing.app to remote access the computer, so something is amiss. Sometimes it works to restart the computer using ”sudo reboot”, but in this case it seemed to get stuck, so I had to force restart with the power button. Quite irritating.

Anyone recognise this behaviour?
I've tried SMC reset and PRAM reset.

Might try to put in the original AMD graphics card that came with the computer and see if that makes a difference.

Edit:
Hmm… It seems this might be the same issue I'm having: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/nmp-monitor-over-hdmi-not-waking-up-after-sleep.1704933/

Maybe it's when the computer sleeps ”by itself” that the problem gets triggered. I will do some testing and post my findings.

Edit 2:
I did some testing both manually sleeping the computer and also let it sleep automatically after the time set in Energy Saver in System Preferences. I couldn't reproduce it at first, however now when I let it sleep over night and tried to wake it again the next day the issue was triggered.

So, it seems only an extended sleep (don't know how long) will trigger the problem when trying to wake the computer. I'll see if I can figure out more and see if it's related to some software I have. Seems I'm not alone, though: https://www.reddit.com/r/osx/comments/4s3jbb/mac_wont_wake_from_sleep_since_installing_sierra/

Edit 3:
It seems the issue was related to me connecting the display via an HDMI cable from the graphics card to an HDMI to DVI adapter attached to the display (display doesn't have HDMI). Now using a DVI cable from graphics card to the display and the issue hasn't occurred since then. Let hope it stays that way. Still find it a bit strange that it sometimes worked fine to wake from sleep with my previous setup. Wonder if the issue is because of HDMI och because of the HDMI to DVI adapter (or something else).

Edit 4:
Unfortunately it seems I was wrong about Edit 3. :(
It just happened now again even if I don't involve HDMI (just DVI). The computer had been sleeping for at least a day and now when I wanted to wake it up the problem happened again – everything spinning up and things seems to be running if I SSH into it, but no video on the display. Also worth mentioning is that I cannot use Screen Sharing.app Apple Remote Desktop.app (just says the computer is still ”Sleeping”) to access the computer. And I cannot press the front button for half a sec to make the computer go to sleep again. So something is definitely amiss when this happens, even if it works to SSH into macOS.

Edit 5:
I have now narrowed it down to being the GTX 970 (I have?). Not happening with two other GPUs I tested. More info later.

Edit 6:
After a lot of testing I'm quite certain the problem is triggered (occasionally, so it's working some times) when waking the computer from another via Apple Remote Desktop. It seems it never happens when sleeping and waking locally.
