Ok guys so i'm trying to stream these three sites through FStream - a free app for everyone to dwnld on the App store which allows you to stream live audio - certain formats - and non of these ones seem to work.

BBC Asian Network
Code:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/asiannetwork/rams/asiannet_hi.asx

Sunrise Radio
Code:
mms://193.218.160.20/Sunrise

Club Asia UK
Code:
http://wms.clubasiaonline.com/calive01

All of these links work perfectly fine on my computer and as far as I can tell FStream suports the formats.
Can anyone help me figure out if this is me or the App?
From the reviews it seems that the App is really buggy and ppl say that it doesn't seem to work that well. If anyone can figure out these links - how to work them on the iPhone or iPod Touch please post the instructions on how to!!!
Thanks

I've managed to get most of the BBC streams to work except from BBC radio 5 live. It may be something to do with how size of the stream. The BBC ones that work are all around 20 Kbps but the 5live stream doesn't work and it streams at like 40kbps

Do you have the links for these? I can't tell from the Live Player what the address is.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5F137 Safari/525.20)

can u give us links for the BBC streams please??

I'm on my iPhone so can't copy and paste them agh! They are all posted in another thread called:
BBC radio on iPhone?

Just do a search and it should come up

How? I assume you mean most of what is in the link, not most of what are out there?

For example, Radio 1 is not on the list. Boo!

gave that a try buddy but no1 seems to be giving out a detailed instruction on it!!! That would be really helpful.... Also does ne1 know when an app update will be coming out for FStream??! Thanks!

The problem is that none of the links listed above work from outside the UK. Can anyone provide the equivalent links for non UK locations? There are generally no rights restrictions on BBC Radio stations (apart from Five Live which I don't listen to anyway!) but I simply can't find a way for the iPhone to play them while abroad.

The BBC's rights restrictions on certain sporting events will dictate what you can get on Five Live, so it isn't always available overseas.

whats not available is live sporting events, when thos are on it would switch to a message saying so.

Streaming BBC audio using FStream

I'm in the UK and CAN get BBC Radio 4 successfully when using a wifi connection. I think o2 possibly block streaming over 3G connections - I've never got them to work.

For info, the Raido 4 stream I used was:
mms://wmlive-acl.bbc.co.uk/wms/bbc_ami/radio4/radio4_bb_live_ep1_sw0

The BBC World Service English stream I used was:
mms://livewmstream-ws.bbc.co.uk/edgestreams.net/reflector:43021

These may stop working if they change servers. I found the servers by viewing the source of the asx files, in firefox. For example, the R4 asx file is
view-source:http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r4.asx
So I typed this info firefox's URL window:
view-source:http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r4.asx
Which shows the list of streaming servers used.

Hey, glad I could help! I was pretty surprised and chuffed when it started working with 5 Live. My own thanks to Mounty for all the links.

Only downside will be that the BBC do not have rights for some events when it comes to the internet, mainly premier league football I think. Should get the majority of the off air coverage though.

How do I find what settings to use in Fstream, I have a stream I can listen to via WMP through my browser but cannot get it to work via Fstream.

Any help would be appreciated.

@jwball:

Simply go to Favorites and tap on Edit. Then select Add new webradio. Fill up the form like this:

Name: Any name you wish to give to your station
URL: http://www.ambersoundfm.com/amber.asx

Leave Format and Bitrate empty and tap Save.

Now, you can go back to the Play tab. You should find the station you just created, identified by the Name you gave when filling up the form.

Tap on that name and there you go... I just tested your URL and it works.

Let me know if it works for you.

Just tried that and it still won't work. It fills the format in as WMA by itself
