Ummm... no.

3 on top and 3 on bottom on has 2 rows, but you're multiplying both numbers by 3. :p

 ... whoops! :p

A 30" Cinema Display would equal to 6 of those them there displays in surface area.
30" Apple Cinema Display (ACD):
1 * (2560 * 1600) = 4096000 = 4.1 megapixels

Now ... for your comparison:
6 * (1280 * 1024) = 7864320 = 7.8 megapixels
6 * (1024 * 768) = 4718592 = 4.7 megapixels

The 30" ACD is only 4 megapixels. Regardless of the size of the LCDs on this guy's desk, six of them will be more space than a single 30" ACD.

Now ... for a more realistic comparison:
4 * (1280 * 1024) = 5242880 = 5.2 megapixels
4 * (1024 * 768) = 3145728 = 3.1 megapixels

So, the only situation where he would have more space on a 30" LCD is if he buys four 1024x768 LCDs. Remember, though, that those four LCDs can be had for the price of the video card required to drive the 30" LCD.

Most setups w/ more than two displays use more than one video card. There are some cards that support up to four displays, but they tend to be pretty expensive.
But isn't there just 1 display connector  I'm so lost

Depends on the graphics card that you buy. Many modern cards have more than one connector (often VGA + DVI, dual VGA, or dual DVI).

I've seen single cards have up to four VGA connectors, but I'm sure there's one out there with more than that. :)

I mean 1 useable display-output-thing on the MoBo for the card to go. My Rage 128 has dual out, even if it can't use them both at once :p

EDIT: Well, I guess a few PCI cards would be cool, but ineffibly slow

I guess that's a nice setup, but I'm holding out for a 200 megapixel setup. ;)

I'd rather have a projector and a 30" for details ... that grid would bug the hell out of me; couldn't they find LCDs with smaller frames??? :p

here's a nice setup for you 30" freaks!

A seperate audio card might help ... are you using the built in sound? Not sure where the bottleneck would be.

Now this is a set up!!!!

What video card/cards are you running in your G5? Did you just pick up a cheap PCI card to run the other two monitors? Im looking to do the same somewhere down the road. :)

Also, what size are those Samsungs and what resolution are you running them at?

If you were she, I hope you wouldn't wear heels with underwear. It looks trashy.

Very trashy.
and if you trip in the heels, you look even more ungraceful than you would if you were clothed. :p

and
man, all of these setups are sweet!
the dual 30"... BEAUTY!
even though it doesn't make as much economic sense as 4 19" ones, it's still...
APPLETASTIC!

the soon to be four displays...
hoooo....
Daaayyymmnnn,.....

I haven't had a triple-monitor configuration since I switched from my 3-screen 7100 to my WallStreet PowerBook.

I only have two screens for the WallStreet due to limitations in the PB itself.

Next PowerBook I buy (soon, if the Steve announces dual-core PBs) will let me go back to three, though.
