BB is showing off contract price for Verizon 32gb is $699. That can't be right. If it is I may just go down there and pick one up. :)
I wonder if they will let you use the $200 trade in gift card towards that price? They have a deal where you trade in an old working smartphone and get a $200 BB gift card.

Anyone get the 32gb? My T-Mobile store won't have the 64 gb for a while, and it's $100 less through jump on demand.

I use google photos and stream all my music

I don't know for sure but it let me preorder it for $699 on the website so I will go from there.

Every other carrier getting it through BB for the 32GB is more than that.

Got my confirmation email for preorder price of $699 + tax.

I really liked the feel of the device when I tried it at BB earlier today, interesting how the thinner Note 5 makes a big difference to me compared to the Note 4. The darn thing was in retail mode so slow as molasses to test.

I left the store not preordering but when I saw that price on the website, the hopelessness/junkie in me kicked in!

I'm curious about this too, I hope it's enough. I would rather get the 64gb Note but don't want to put the money down. Since I got a 64gb iPhone 6 Plus previously i'm going to see if they can let me trade it in for the same size (that's if they even have it in store). I still have 30 gb left on my iphone but I think that would be calling it close on a 32gb device.

Display mate just did their tests on the new screens on the Note 5 and Edge+. No surprise, they're some of the best displays out.

No doubting the display when I saw it at BB, just wish I could have played with the device. The Play Store was available to try some apps/games but the download rate was terrible so I just cancelled out the one I wanted to try. Even YouTube videos I really could not access.

I went from being mildly interested to stoked when I saw the price on the website.

From displaymate:

... the most color accurate display that we have ever measured for a Smartphone or Tablet, which is visually indistinguishable from perfect, and is very likely considerably better than your living room TV.

When Automatic Brightness is turned On, the Galaxy Note 5 produces up to an impressive 861 cd/m2 (nits) in High Ambient Light, where high Brightness is really needed – it is the brightest mobile display that we have ever tested. As a result of its high Brightness and low Reflectance, the Galaxy Note 5 has a Contrast Rating for High Ambient Light that ranges from 118 to183, also the highest that we have ever measured for any mobile display.

I've said this many times, there's a reason why Samsung’s flagship should cost more than any other device on the planet. The most expensive and advanced hardware around. Absolutely Unacceptable for any company trying to charge the prices Samsung charges for their Note line and S line. YOU want to sell me a phone with minimal slower RAM, slower storage, 1080P old LCD tech, minimal MP front and back camera (I want megapixels AND image quality). All the while holding back mobile technology available to customers to maximize your profits? Hell no. Not this guy.

VZW version will work on TMo, right?

TMO site has Note 5 White Pearl 64gb again and I just placed an order for one, ETA is tomorrow. I can't wait.

Agreed.

That is why it makes so much sense for companies like Motorola to charge less and make a great product. Motorola outsources the parts....majority of Samsung hardware is made ny them and their best at the time. Part of the cost is research and development.

I'm not saying the prices aren't over priced....Samsung just has a bit more justification then others.

Except my living room display is an OLED ;)

Fondled a Note 5 at BB today. Kind of meh, front looks like the Note 4 but the side bezel are quite awesome and tiny. Not as thick as I expected, but still not as thin as hoped. Very nice phone, especially if you are jumping from a Note 3. Now I was completely blown away with the S6 edge plus and I think that will be the hot blonde standing next to the Note 5 cute brunette and will cut heavily into Note 5 sales. My prediction, the Note 5 will be on the chopping block this time next year unless they rethink it and stop rehashing the same phone year after year.

Now it would be a sad day in the mobile space if the Note line was cancelled. I just don't see it happening. It may become more restricted to fewer markets, but not totally cancelled. I need my SPen and cute brunette.

Brunettes are better.

I'd have to agree. As beautiful as the Note 5 is, and as much as I'd love to have that display, the awesome camera and even the S-Pen for occasional use, two aspects make it a definite no-go for me. First, 64GB just isn't enough for me anymore. My phone is my everyday camera and I use it all the time, especially for video. Between apps, music and other media, and video storage, I chew through a lot of storage. Second, an more importantly, there is no carrier-free unlocked version available here in the States. And thus why the Pure seems more attractive--more available storage, completely free from any carrier baggage, and significantly cheaper. And I prefer stock Android so much more. ;)

Technically there is. If you pre-order the Note 5 on Best Buy you have the option for the Unactivated device. put in your nano sim card and it should work

It is kinda interesting Samsung is emulating Huawei when it comes to the name being stylized to Note5 like Huawei's Mate7.

Note 4 > Note5

micro-sd slot & removable battery > none of it

My Mom was asking me about anything she can get me during the Labor Day weekend sale since a relative is visiting her in the US next month and we live in the same city here in PI. She asked if there is any CHEAP phone I like. I told her no thanks. Pretty content with what I have now. All I asked was for a Nokia Lumia 635 to give to my gf which got pick pocketed out of her purse and for her to get me a $25 Samsung 64 gb micro-sd card. More memory is better for me than more phones. I am starting to realize these phones we buy and own for a few months or years is like accumulating cd's during the 90's before Napster and dvd's during the 00's before YIFY and Pirate Bay ruined collecting physical copies of them. Eventually phones become disposable stuff that gets abused as time passes. The phone I am typing now, I might love it right now and start hating it again next week to sell for whatever random reboot or glitch might occur. We are fickle. Then by getting a new phone, another cycle occurs.

Keep the timeless ones. For Note 4 owners or say Note 3 and S5 owners, stick to them. They seem like a timeless model that will get more appreciated in time. Forget the Note5 and wait until Samsung goes back to their senses next year.
