I am not rushing into a Note 5 and I know the audience is different but the Pure would probably suffice for me, especially at $399. :)

I'd have to agree. As beautiful as the Note 5 is, and as much as I'd love to have that display, the awesome camera and even the S-Pen for occasional use, two aspects make it a definite no-go for me. First, 64GB just isn't enough for me anymore. My phone is my everyday camera and I use it all the time, especially for video. Between apps, music and other media, and video storage, I chew through a lot of storage. Second, an more importantly, there is no carrier-free unlocked version available here in the States. And thus why the Pure seems more attractive--more available storage, completely free from any carrier baggage, and significantly cheaper. And I prefer stock Android so much more. ;)

Very positive other than from that review ...

"Scrolling between the homescreen is smooth, apps launch instantly, and its performance is accompanied with buttery responses – the results of a high-quality processor, of course. The increase in RAM helps to keep apps from having to refresh constantly, but in our experience, it’s really tough to say if it actually does."

That doesn't sound like the extra ram is making much of a difference over the S6/S6 Edge.

Could it simply be the way this new Touchwiz is operating ? Interested to see other reviews regarding this.

Well do they mean the apps still refresh, or did they never see the problem to begin with?

Yeah it's ambiguous - and could be read that way. But even reading it that way it means that the extra 1gb isn't translating into a noticeable improvement.

Even if they didn't see the issue before, you'd think more Ram would mean a greater amount of apps being able to be ran in the background, the fact they see no noticeable difference means they aren't seeing that.

True....but this is phonearena...I don't know if I really trust them to actually try and push the phone to a stressful level.

We will know soon enough one way or another.

Weren't they the ones who posted the Z3 having 10 hours SOT ? If so ... Yeah I think we should take their review with a sprinkle of salt.

Yeah it's a very positive review. For me anyway I was never affected by the ram issue on my S6. I suspect very little we're actually affected. Anyway can't wait to get my hands on it tomorrow. Looking forward to more reviews in the meantime.

LOL no kidding. This review says the Note 5 has significantly better battery life than the iPhone 6 Plus ( Which IMO the 6 Plus is a beast for battery, one of the best ) So the Note 5 is even that much better ?

This review shows it getting like 50% better battery life WTF, no friggin way. 6 Plus with 6h 32m and the Note 5 with 9h 11m. I don't know, I'm confused on those results, or what they even mean ? There's no way the Note 5 is near 50% better on battery life over the iPhone 6 Plus.

That is quite the feat if the note 5 is that much better battery.

I know the one on display in BB would be in demo mode when I try it but I cannot see how one cannot ascertain whether or not apps refresh regardless. I tried it on the S6 there and again while in demo mode, it still translated in real world use.

Yeah I'm waiting for a lot more feedback on this over next few weeks, moreover on the Edge plus. Both MBKHD and Angela Griffin both have reported app refreshing on their devices in videos, so I look forward to seeing what they say when they do their in depth reviews.

How is app refreshing even possible with 4gb or RAM unless it is like a day later.

The Nexus 6 will be sold if I go for the Pure or the Note 5. Plain Jane would be OK with me, the N6 ergonomics do not thrill me.

I'm still undecided on if I should keep my N6 or not once I get the Note 5. I might just keep it to try out Google Fi if they ever let me in.

I have an invite to FI that I am not going to use. I am selling my N6 this week. I wonder if I can forward it to you?

Funny you say that, was looking through my storage today...

My G4 shoots videos on a pretty high quality - a one minute video takes up about 120mb! Couldn't believe it.

Thank goodness I've got an SD card, frankly.

That is impressive, anything 3 hours and up is more than enough for me and I use my phone a lot. I couldnt imagine 4-5 hours not being enough

The 3gb S6/S6 Edge had issues with very aggressive ram management that has yet to be fixed. End result was apps being force closed too often & too early. It's improved with 5.1.1 but is still an issue for many users. Apps actually close earlier on my Edge than they do on my 6 Plus - which shouldn't happen. I was hoping the extra 1gb might fix this issue for good - but that review left the waters still 'muddy' in this regard.

I just ordered mine, should be here Thursday :)

Just the black 32gb

Let us know how you get on with it and more importantly Enjoy :)
