You can always flash back to stock using ODIN but once you trip Knox it will always be tripped. Of course, I believe Samsung is the only one that can reset your knox counter.

Even Samsung can't reset a Knox counter. Once e-fuse is tripped it would require a new efuse, necessitating a new main board.

Once tripped you lose ALL hardware warranty, Samsung won't replace your main board unless

1. You get lucky and another part of your device dies such as CPU / GPU

2. The technicians replacing that part do not spot Knox has been tripped - very unlikely

3. You return to your carrier and they replace it without checking - though many carriers now insist on repair and then your back to 2.

Essentially Knox is the reason I resist rooting or flashing other roms. Especially as I resell and people always want some warranty left on the device and I couldn't in good faith sell something to someone with banjaxed warranty.

Signs that the Note 5 might get released in Europe after all (sorry if this has been posted already):

http://www.slashgear.com/europe-cheer-up-you-might-still-get-a-galaxy-note-5-26399496/

Not that we really reeeeeally weren't expecting this sooner or later of course...

Sadly yeah this has been posted and no it's unlikely it's Europe. Over on XDA it's been pointed out it's likely for markets like Russia who often share same F designation.

Samsung have made it perfectly clear their position and the fact that those jumping on this rumour are just being hopeful. There's not a chance of it appearing tomorrow as the rumour suggests (launch 28th August) when Samsung haven't even launched the device they have acknowledged release S6 Edge + in Europe until likely 3rd September.

It's just wishful thinking.

Ah ok thanks.

I still just find it so INCREDIBLY bizarre that they would really do this. It literally hurts my brain to think about it. When they finally have a Note that looks good enough to actually compete with the iPhone 6+ in terms of style...

Indeed ...

What's even more bizarre is that here in Ireland for example we have three main carriers (well 2 now as one bought the other) and a couple of small independents who piggyback networks, each of them at least offered their customers the Note 4. None of these carriers are seemingly planning on stocking the 6 Edge Plus - no sign of pre-order or coming soon.

Given Samsung intended the 6 Edge Plus for Europe instead of Note 5, with lack of carrier support in some European countries (admittedly were a small one) it does seem likely to indicate the S6 Edge Plus won't be making up the shortfall the gap the Note 5 has left.

I imagine Apple's 6S Plus is going to do very well in Europe with extra boost by carriers making up the lost sales no Note device has left.

This will invariably have a big impact on Samsungs Q4/Q1 earnings.

If Note 5 sales aren't stellar in USA & Asia, losing sales to other phablets again, and assuming S7/7edge increase screen size next year, it's entirely possible we won't see a Note 6 anywhere ......

Thats my question are samsung depending too much on US sales for the note 5 here? as surely for it to meet their expections they need to sell a lot to make up for the european market?

They must/have to be prepared for lower sales, if they aren't then that would be incredible hubris on their part ...

In other news .... I got an email from the crowd I've ordered my N5 from; they are refunding me €13 due to change in Euro price since placing order - making it €660 for the 32gb Note 5 :)

If they would offer a 64GB black version, I would be tempted...

Looking forward to your review on this beauty.

Clear case is the way to go.

The one I have for S6 edge is the only I will get for my 6S plus.

Sorry i think getting cross-wired with different global terms of expression.

"How do you find it ?" Was me asking 'what are your impressions of the Ringke' ? :)
Lol, I see, sorry. It's a good case. Ample protection, fits good, etc. Only problem for is the rear being a fingerprint magnet just like using the phone naked. The UAG hides prints much better. I'll swap back n forth as long as the Ringke doesn't "yellow"

Unfortunately there is a dirth of cases available in Europe now too simply because of its 'non availability' of the device.

I'd like a Samsung fabric flip cover - much like my Edge one just for when I'm out and about - the only one I can see on Samsung's website is the clear flip case and that got blamed for scratching the Edge devices to hell.

Will get a spigen glas.tr when it becomes available.

Yeah I am a case whore, I always end up with tons of cases for a device while im using it. I chose to rock with the Ringke Fusion until my usual UAG case gets here. The Ringke is no slouch though. I never use clear cases since they will always yellow over time and also its slippery since my hands tend to get sweaty or oily. The Ringke is a very nice fit and if I had to run it everyday as my driver I would be fine with it paired with my Zagg protector.

But nothing holds the thrown like my UAG paired with the tempered glass, Love that combo.

No case for me, liking the feel and weight and I am really careful with my phones. Accidents can happen but through all the years I only need one hand to count how many times I dropped a phone and it was always on a carpet/rug.

Accidents happen more often then not when a person is trying to do more things than just using their phone.

Yeah I couldnt tell you the last time I dropped my phone but it has been a few times with my 6 Plus onto my hardwood floors but I like to keep peach of mind because accidents to happen and I would hate to scuff my device I paid good money for. I wish I could leave it naked but me and my friend picked our Note 5's up at the same time and his slide between the center console and the seat and hit something just perfect and it cracked the rear glass, I was like yeah this device is too fragile.
