See, it was fate. Not only did you get a good deal, but suddenly root became available. Coincidence? I think not.

Agreed, one should consider it very carefully, because this is a one time decision that you cannot go back on

very frustrating as there are no such limitations with touchid or apple pay with jailbreaking

a silver lining would be to wait for a vulnerability based root method that does not trip knox. I believe 5.0.2 s6/s6e was susceptible to ping pong root or something like that

I believe you can always go back to stock but it's not a permanent thing, is it?
 
Nice thing about the root, now a new kernel was released;

- deep sleep achieved and kept
- bloatware removed
- system and memory tweaks.

Battery life should increase significantly.

Hey, totally off topic see you are NFL fan. What do you think of Jarryd Hayne the aussie playing for the 49er's in the trial games. Getting heaps of press back home. He was our no 1 Rugby League player here? If he makes the cut they will have a big Aussie fan base.

Hi, sorry I can't be more helpful, but I'm not a huge football fan, more of a baseball fan, the only NFL team I really follow is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So you telling me about the rugby player is the first I've heard, but that seems really cool. I'll keep an eye out for coverage.

You can always flash back to stock using ODIN but once you trip Knox it will always be tripped. Of course, I believe Samsung is the only one that can reset your knox counter.

Disappointing to read. I went with the TMO variant just so I could root the device but I won't now; I need the phone to hold its resale value.
