They didn't increase the pressure sensitivity, but really reduced the lag, when you draw the line is is only a couple of pixels behind the pen, it's almost instant.

Was just coming here to ask if anyone had tested this. Couple questions if you don't mind:

Have you seen reduced lag in 3rd party apps (sketchbook, onenote, anything like that)? How about the little pen cursor circle tracking the tip? Wondering if this is a hardware/driver level improvement or if it's specific to Samsung's software.

Also, does it seem like there's been an overall decrease in system input lag or is this pen-specific? That one might be harder to assess.

I leave mine on Auto.

Impressive. :) yeah I leave mine on auto too. If I can get even 5 hours I would be delighted, but I can make do with 4 or so, but yeah the more obviously the merrier :) Though I suspect my cellular coverage here will impact battery quite a lot.

Has anybody got any pics taken with the device and exterior shots of their Note 5? A few claim to have it yet this thread lacks interesting pics for the readers. We can all read about it and get hands on info from YouTube. Let's see some piccys :)
Can't take pics of my Note 5 with my note 5..... sorry. Would you like a screenshot of some sort to prove I have a Note 5?

Wish ATT Corporate would light a fire under my local ATT's ass. I have Uverse and their only real competition in town is Suddenlink and I can not get more than 6mb down from ATT, I am probably going to have to switch. I have stayed because it is reliable and no bandwidth enforcing but man 6mb is rough. I am due for my yearly call in to get half price promotional pricing in September, if I dont get it then I will switch for sure

Where are you located?

Where are you located?
Jonesboro, AR
I see in other towns Att offers much better, I probably live 1 mile from the main Att building in town. I have the "Elite" plan that is 6mb down, normal price is 52/month. I have been paying half price though

This phone has surpassed all my expectations.. the fingerprint scanner is instant! (better than my iP6+), the screen is to kill for, battery is getting much, much better everyday!, there's practically no heat from the device, the camera gives me a boner, there is absolutely NO lag, the build is par excellence, the audio.. ahh!! is audiogasmic!..

Samsung...Well Done !

Thank you for going out of your way, I appreciate it!

Looks like I'm gonna stick with the 32gb variant and just buy an OTG drive.

Not a problem bro. yeah the OTG drive is def a good look and if you are already getting by with the 32GB Nexus then you will be fine with the Ntoe 5.

I guess that depends on the app. Using Myscript Calculator I still get noticeable lag, but using Myscript Smart Note I don't.

As for your other question, it seems like there is, but there is still like a rubber band effect when I scroll, though not sure if that's by design or actual lag, because when I tap the screen to select it recognizes that immediately.

I got around €250 when I sold mine which is about £180 ... Yeah compared to the €680 mine cost me at the time big drop.
It was ridiculous how expensive the pro series tablets cost (I had the 10.1) at launch. Only to see them superceeded within a few months by the S series and their re-sale value plummet. I paid £489 for mine at launch and I got £119 when I sold it on.

But then the resale value for android devices in general is notoriously poor.

Speed Test iPhone 6 (1GB) vs. Note 5 (4GB)

Even with 1GB the iPhone wins in multitasking, iphone 6s with 2gb will be a beast...

Wow.
The the 1 year old, 1 gb iPhone 6, spanked the Galaxy note 5.

I guess MRU was spot on in regards to TW.
Might be time for some posters to eat some crow.

Yep..it's why buying android devices is pointless for me unless I plan to keep them.

Thanks for posting this video...again (no offense).

Spanked?

For the everyday user, the note 5 is faster, period. How many people open 8 apps, close them, and do the same.

I play some games. I started playing hearthstone yesterday (pretty fun), and in between rounds I would close out the game, check my email, slickdeals, tapatalk, hangout my wife, and then jump back into heathstone. The app never closed. Why? Because I wasn't cycling 8 different apps rapidly for the sake of a youtube video.

What can we gather from the above youtube video? The note 5 is faster at opening apps initially, which is a greater benefit to the user. Secondly...iOS mutlitasks differently! I guess people don't understand this, but it does. While android hold the entire app in its memory, or something along those lines; iOS freezes the app and "remembers" its state (I am not articulating this well). Ever load a recent app on an iphone, and it is where you left off...but it lags or freezes for a few seconds before responds? That is iOS mutlitasking and ram management at work. There is a fundamental difference that allows the iPhone to keep up with higher spec phones in terms of multitasking. It may appear to be better, in in some cases (like angry birds) it is. But in other cases, it isn't. For example, spotify can't keep downloading music in the background unless you keep it open, and keep the screen on. See? Both operating systems have their advantages and disadvantages.

None-the-less, anyone with an iphone 6+ can relate to the frustration, for example, of tying an email, forum post, etc...leaving the app to check a notification, and coming back to have the app (quickly, again, iOS ram management) reload, thus erasing whatever they had typed. I had two iphone 6+ over the last year, when it was released, and less than a week ago. They both suffered from this. 2gb of ram will help, but it won't change the fundmental differences in the systems.

Anyway, the note 5 seems to be rather aggressive at times...and yet other times it shines in the mutlitasking department (read endgaget, etc reviews). I personally think the note 5 will kill a power hungry app (like angry birds) much quicker than other apps, but like I said, it wasn't a problem for me in normal experience with games like hearthstone. But if you like to cycle 10 apps over and over, rapidly, then you may notice.

Anyway...this subject has been discussed at length. Lets let it go, and accept it for what it is; until the next update. I wonder android M will run on this phone...
