Well put, I get so tired of seeing these comparison videos....

I just ignore such videos and posters... IMO, the Note 2 had already spanked all iPhones in terms of usability.

I'll reconsider iPhone competition when it gives up psuedo-multitasking.

Heck, with the Note 5...the ONLY advantage the iPhones had (camera and audio) was obliterated too!

Judging from the comparison shots iPhone 6 wins. I'd rather have dynamic range and true colors than more pixels, but YMMV.

No wonder the iPhone wins, you are an Apple kool aid drinker. When the iPhone 6s or 7 gets more pixels you'll be singing a different tune.

I gave up worrying about if the phone I own gets spanked in someone else's opinion long ago. I'm not a power user myself so the reality is it makes little difference to me. I'm sure the Note 5 is the best phone on the planet right now, but if I was eligible to upgrade I'd be waiting for the iPhone 6S purely because it fits with my lifestyle better. Specs mean very little these days to me.

From what I've seen of the Note though it's maintained the quality level of the S6 in terms of build quality. I think at this level it only really boils down to what OS the consumer prefers.

From my view...everybody will have an opinion on a device and if it suits them better thats all that matters. I love samsung phones but the consistant issues i have been having with the software was the last straw for me. Even my S6 edge now a major flagship is lagging, takes ages to load up apps and taking 3-4 secs just to type words on the browser and texts. Which for a main flagship shouldn't happen. Not everybody have these issues clearly but i've had enough of this happening and going back iphone where this issues simply will not happen is my best option.

I'm still a techy though so if everybody loves their new samsung devices I still want to hear about it. They are still great phones but the software has sadly ruined the experience for me. I'm still a fan of android and all the phones but I simply can't use it as my daily driver going forward

Yeah I still like looking at Samsung devices because I'm hoping one day they'll get it spot on and i'll be tempted back. It's disappointing yours is lagging considering how new it is. Other android manufacturers seem to have worked out a way to stabilise their OS but Samsung dominates the popular market and perhaps are complacent?

I'm kinda the same way, I find it funny how people over exaggerate online over minor flaws and advantages. The Note is right now my favorite phone, it has the best screen out but when compared to the iPhone it's really just a small bump in display quality but online people talk like it's a HUGE disparity and the iPhone display sucks.

At this stage, most advantages are minor, so it really depends on what your looking for in a device.

They are obviously a top company but certain decisions they have made this year are very odd. I'm not sure what direction they are heading in to be honest. They make fantastic phones but the lack of attention they seem to pay towards the software is worrying. Not having the note 5 in europe is another very bad decision. Just like getting rid of SD cards/removeables and not adding 128GB options for the note note 5/edge plus. But as long as people are happy with those who have bought their new phones thats what matters and I hope everybody enjoys them as they are stunning devices.

What's baffling about this is that not everyone experiences this, I wonder why? Are you a heavy user? Do you have bloatware disabled?

I think there are others who do experience this as I've seen on these forums and others but yes most appear happen with them. Or say they are even if they aren't. I dunno I can't speak for other users and how they use their phones.

Yes I'm a very heavy user and no nothing disabled in that area. I'm a heavy user on the air 2 but never had issues there. Sadly it's all about the software which is a shame considering how much i have spent on samsung devices the past few years.

The little time I had the TMO variant, I didn't experience any of the lag. However, I disabled a lot of the bloatware. I'll test with the ATT variant to see if I experience it.

There are many reasons for something like this.
It could be hardware, maybe he got bad unit? It could be where he is, if he's in a hot climate maybe the phone throttles more often? It could be a bad install of his software, it could be he disabled the wrong service or app, it could be poor data connection so his apps are loading info in the background more often for longer periods of time making it lag, it could be the apps he has installed are slowing things down (tesla unread notification badges slows my Note down), or it could also simply be that he notices little delays more than most of us and constantly seeing that bothers him.

I wish I was in a hot climate ;)

the unit has been fine up until the last month or so and there have been no updates either. I had the same kind of lag on my note 4 after 5.0.

There was a poster who had same issue and I think I can't remember the solution but if I recall correctly it was a third party app that was causing the keyboard lag in the end.

I'll see if I can find the thread - just in case you have same app and that may be the thing causing yours. I don't have any keyboard lag on my edge.

Ok found the thread ...

It was sartrekid who had the bad keyboard lag ... Sadly software was eliminated as the cause - and it turned out after a headache replacing his device - the new one didn't have the issue. So it was a replacement device in his case that solved the issue ... :(
