So HTC has been a horrible experience so far. Tried to get my M9 carrier swap under Uh-Oh protection. They shipped me a poorly manufactured device with a huge gap between the LCD panel and the body on the left side, as if the screen was leaping out of the body. The 2nd device they sent me has a small gap between the power button and the LCD panel. It's safe to say I am miserable with this purchase. Why is my luck with phone so crappy? I emailed the President, so I hope he can help me since Tech Support is useless.

They want me to go through the repair process, where my M7 from last year had problems with the battery twice, but they just replaced the vibrator not once but twice. Two certified like new devices came with a gap of different sizes. I just hope I can get a refund.

As for the Note 5, I am having thoughts about getting it as my Android device or the GS6 Edge again. How is it? I read reviews on T-Mobile's site, but it doesn't seem to be bad, but the score is 3/5 or something like that. Pocketnow says the battery life is average, but everything else is just incredible. I was trying to see Marques Brownlee's review, but it's not up yet. My dad might buy one too, so I might get a chance to play with it. I have had horrible experiences with Samsung, but not much choice for me in Android since LG's UI is ugly and I do not like to root or use custom launchers much these days. Samsung's customer support is too much of headache too, but I would like a quality android device. I am open to the Moto X, Xperia Z5, or Nexus 5. I am still getting the 6S+ though. That will be my daily driver because iOS > Android for me.

Yeah MKBHD has only just done is one plus two review (which was pretty positive) so I assume he will be doing the Note 5 next. He tends to spend a few weeks with the device before giving his opinion.

Erica's will be a few weeks too (I can't believe with so many followers she has to still buy her own phones for review)

DetroitBorg has a review up I think though.

DetroitBorg's video is too long. 32 minutes? Damn. I'll check it out later. I have to do case briefs for my Torts and Criminal Law courses lol.

Not sure.....I guess i will find out! :)
yeah I'm not sure whether to order a skin or two from d-brand (they do fast international shipping) I kind of like their leather effect one on my S6e but at same time I don't like it too (I look at it and feel it's a shame or guilty that I've covered it up its beauty design wise).

Gonna see how the ringke clear slim case works out first. I assume getting a clear back protector for the Note 5 mane as awkward as a front protector on the edge due to the country ever glass.

For first time note users, how much of a difference does it make having the s pen? Does it make a dramatic difference? Does it really add to productivity.

I'm wondering too if it's like the split window feature. One of those things you rarely use but when you need it is super helpful. Or is the stylus more impactful?

Seems some people don't use the pen much at all. MBKHD i believe is like that. I've always used the S-Pen when I've had note devices because I am pretty much holding a pen or stylus all day anyway as an illustrator / graphic designer.

There are fantastic applications on android that make the most of it too. Thankfully Samsung give you a couple of them free too like Sketchbook Pro and ArtRage. Though I use Corel painter too.

I tend then to use the Note devices as a quick sketchbook - If you find a use for the spen you'll use it - if not the novelty may wear off and it'll spend most of its time in its silo.

I will bet that most N5 buyers will use the pen the first few weeks of ownership. Then it will be a rare occurrence. I know I rarely use the stylus at all but it is nice to have on the rare occasion I want it.

Rarely used the S-Pen myself on my Note 2 but found it much more useful on the Note 10.1 tablet. I guess I just don't find the smaller display of a phone conducive to stylus use.

I use my s-pen all the time for it is much more accurate than a finger and I seldom need to zoom more than the double tap feature to select Web page items and read text.

I also use the undocked SwiftKey keyboard and the s-pen is great for that.

I don't use the S-Pen all that much, but since buying the Note 5 my usage has been on the rise! How ? I'm really liking the off-screen note taking feature. It actually is pretty useful to me.

Looks sharp. I was/am considering the dbrand's mahogany skin for the back. And, something for the front because those capacitive lights drives me nuts at night, esp when the screen brightness has been turned down all the way.

You can't turn off the capacitive lights?

The free app called "Galaxy button lights" let's you turn it off permanently. I use it on my s6. Works perfectly.

Doesn't power save mode also disable the light on the buttons ?

Never tried that but that works too..

The *Galaxy Button Lights* App is perfect because I really don't ever need those buttons to light up, and not sure what else is disabled with 'Power Save'
